(58,772 posts)The GOP will choose someone from the establishment. I think Jeb! or Rubio will be it.

(62,325 posts)happen to protect THEIR interests, These powerful forces that control our elections will be difficult to defeat.
But the people are more energized now against them than ever before.
As Biden said recently 'you do have the power to defeat those who are controlling our system' when he spoke about the 'corrosive effects of money on our political system'.

(59,501 posts)There were many polls that have shown that HRC was at 50% or above, but this is the first time I have seen a national poll that puts Sanders above 50% in the general against their leading candidate.
This and other polls showing him competitive or beating Republicans are important for both the obvious reason (you want the Democrat beating the Republican, but - even if HRC is further ahead - it counters the argument that he is not electable.

(14,881 posts)Using the normal definition of "is," Bernie IS electable.

(59,501 posts)After posting that, there is a thread that contains interesting polls for Iowa and NH that show that Sanders does better than HRC against Trump, Bush and Fiorina. http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251648332
These are interesting results from two states that have been paying the most attention.

(62,325 posts)beats Trump by 20 points, AND the next Repub, Carson also. As the article said, Trump 'does better against Hillary'.
Another from WV airc, about a month ago showed Bernie doing well in that state also.
In nearly every poll against Repubs, Bernie does better than anyone else.
So much for the 'he can't win the GE' nonsense.
