It is completely reasonable to be skeptical of a politician who has just changed a position or two.

Politicians are not generally trustworthy people, because they tend to do what they need to win votes. This is known.

That's why we like politicians who have long track records of leading the way on clearly staked out positions that they have held for years. And that's why we're leery of those who suddenly change positions late in the game.

We respect people who change opinions, but we need to see them stick with those positions through thick and thin, win and lose.

So bottom line: Hillary, it's great you're finally moving back to the left. Now let's see you stay there for about five or six years. Then maybe we'll consider you a politician we can count on.

I'm happy to see this rhetoric coming from her but she's got a lot to prove before I'll ever believe it.
