Debate prediction

Chaffee is going to make a stab at Hillary on her vote for authorization of the Iraq war thing.

Her camp is going to have cooked up an answer that they think is going to resonate. It will be something about her trust in the office of the commander in chief, her trust in the generals, and how she would ask the same trust be extended to anyone that becomes president. There might be a drop in about how President Bush betrayed that trust. She will use his name a few extra times in a negative fashion.

It will sell well and get some applause.

But I will not believe it.

Debates are usually dueling talking points. The primary benefit of them is to expose more people to a wider number of candidates than what they normally have available.

There is a reason that Hillary switched on the pipeline a few weeks ago and the TPP a few days ago. She does not want to have to answer a lot of questions on these matters. If called out she will give short concise answers that try to dismiss the question.

be rare. As they typically are in debates for as long as I remember. I find it very frustrating to watch debates because too often the question is used as a brief starting point to segue off into something else.

If someone answers directly, that is very good.

he said his top three goals were climate change, incoming inequality, and peace in the Middle East and North Africa. He also said earlier in the campaign that he was getting in primarily to keep the issue of the Iraq war alive in peoples minds. So I have no doubt that any chance he gets he is going to mention that he was the sole Republicans to vote against it. And if he had the correct information and enough information to do so, so did Hillary. No amount out of wiggling is going to get her out of that horrible vote and I hope he pounds it during the whole debate.

Contrast with Rick Perry and Scott Walker who were starting to generate debts the contributions were not going to cover.

Since HRC has tried to evolve on most issues
to join O'Malley and Bernie, I expect no great
differences among the three main candidates;
rather a cumbaya sort of thing.
The difference may come from the rather
conservative Webb.

33. One question should suffice
Fri Oct 9, 2015, 05:21 PM
Oct 2015

I can't possibly see why or how it would be more than one question.

The regulation of wallstreet
Expansion of unions
social security
national defense
reproductive rights
gay rights
police brutality
addressing racism
the great wealth disparity
working to stop poverty
Education K-12
higher education
Global warming
the environment
Working to build jobs
Working to improve infrastructure
campaign finance reform
Healthcare reform
The cost of medications

These and a dozen other issues probably deserve to see a bit of sunlight too.

If the desire to put down Bernie makes gun control big enough an issue to crowd out too much of the above list then maybe you need to reevaluate whether you actually care about gun control or just having Hillary win.
