Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas pulled in $12.2 million for his presidential campaign in the third quarter of the year, giving him a total of $26.5 million raised so far, a campaign official said late Thursday.

The Cruz campaign official declined to say how much cash Cruz had on hand. As of June 30, his campaign committee had $8.5 million in the bank after raising more than $14 million in the first half of the year.

Large donations collected by a group of super PACs supporting his candidacy bring the total amount raised on his behalf to $64.5 million so far -- second only to former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who has pulled in $120 million between his campaign and outside allies. Bush has not yet revealed how much he raised in the last quarter.
