Is the fix in?

I can not shake this dreadful feeling that the fix is in. Paul Ryan is too obviously a terrible choice to help win the election. But, if I am right (and hopefully I am dead wrong), nothing Romney does or does not do will change the outcome. That is the only thing that makes sense to me to explain why Romney would continue to ignore requests to release his tax records and to choose such an awful running mate. Either that or he is determined to commit political suicide.

Talk me down, please.

They may be hoping he'd be to Romney what Cheney was to Bush - the puppetmaster. But the teabaggers are such extreme ideologues that they don't let reality interfere with what they think ought to happen. And Ryan himself is an ideologue who hasn't worked outside D.C. in some 20 years. Romney, I think, is a cynical opportunist who is now a captive of the true believers, whose support he needs. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for us), his and Ryan's lack of contact with reality is going to bite them in the butt.

you know he won't win the independents. He is playing to his base. What I think is happening is they are going for the house and senate seats. They figure they can run the country that way. Course Obama can veto anything he wants. But they can override it.

This is the most unpopular Congress in recorded history. The GOPers are not likely to do well this time.

We'll I've heard this over and over. He already had his ignorant, racist base. And I don't see him getting any more votes with this move. In fact, he just lost all seniors. I'm sure Obama now has the woman vote due to Rmoney's ignorance. It's like they're playing the game to lose.
