You would not believe the excuses I've heard for not bothering to register and vote. This is just another one. If you don't think there are people who feel this way, you're wrong.

Why do you ask?

Sometimes I feel good. Other times, I feel like being 70 years old sucks. Mostly, though, I'm doing OK.

In fact, you and many other Clinton supporters seem to be actively hoping young people stay home. Which is especially puzzling, since this is the age group where most of that vaunted diversity in the party is located.

Interesting.

let me guess - you're white, too.

in the upcoming elections. The problem arises
afterwards. It needs new and energetic blood
to change the party, and that means work as
well as bodies on the ground and in the meetings.

Should Bernie lose, he will still use a megaphone
to keep his supporters active. At least that is my
hope. And yes, the party has to change for it to
survive at all.

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

ten votes per device, from home, like "American Idol," or "Dancing with the Stars," they would do it.

Or, maybe they could register people while they wait in long lines at Walmart, because Walmart is too cheap to hire enough checkers. They probably still wouldn't show up to vote, unless there was free pizza and burgers.

No Oregonian is forced to go to some polling place for inspection, nor Washingtonians. Californians can if they want to but most of them don't because who the fuck wants to stand in line?

We vote at home, like citizens.

1) ruined the country
2) Drained all the entitlement funds
3) are staying in all the good jobs
4) are too selfish to worry about others,

and on and on ad nauseum.

And all of this age division joins and is part of the class division, color division, and language division that the 1% need to keep the bottom 99% from realizing that this system of cancerous and ever expanding capitalism was never designed or intended to improve everyone' lives.

I am definitely not accusing Mineral Man of dividing people, but the GOP is constantly trying to do this. I think that MM is pointing out what seems to be a general lack of involvement/interest in electoral politics on the part of a segment of the younger people. It is up to the candidates, and the Parties, and sites like DU to remind people of the stakes in every election. If it takes different tactics with the younger crowd than the effort must be made.

from my comfy arm chair, with a cup of something good and a fire in the stove.

Then I'll stick a stamp on it and mail it, a couple of weeks before election day.

That's the way I like to vote. I don't have to deal with travel, parking, lines, booths, or polling machines and devices. Just me, all curled up, a black pen, and a stamp.

I'm sure the younger generation would text their vote if they could, lol.

The important thing is that they'll vote.
