Related: About this forumSolidarity thread for Bernie supporters who want Gowdy et. al prosecuted

This might sink like a rock, but there seems to be some doubt, among HRC supporters, about solidarity among supporters of other candidates in the primary.
Please kick and rec this if you are appalled by the misappropriation of taxpayer funds by Gowdy, et. al to purposefully, maliciously, and deceptively target a longstanding, respected leader in the Democratic party, and if you want a special prosecutor appointed to investigate their possible wrongdoing.
Among our primary candidates I prefer Bernie Sanders, but I fiercely oppose Republican operatives who are targeting our former FLOTUS, Senator from NY State, and Secretary of State.
I can only hope one of them will see jail time.

(16,286 posts)Thank you for this thread.
Remember, people like Gowdy and other cons hate people like the Ambassador who was killed.
Chris Stevens was a BERKELEY lawyer and not a rightwing nut.
He was the type of person your typical asshat like Gowdy despised, until he could use his dead fucking body for political points.
These disgusting pricks make me sick.

(9,002 posts)when nuts flip out about the ambassador killed I always ask, "So, what are the names of the other three Americans killed?"
Usually met with bewilderment.

This was a political witch hunt from the beginning. Already rumblings that if Hillary becomes President they'll try and impeach her. This is their game plan against any Democratic President now- destroy them, death by a thousand paper cuts, investigate investigate investigate. Obstruction Obstruction Obstruction. They'd do it to Bernie, too, or any Democrat. Tired of this crap.

(314 posts)We've had nearly six years of the mainstream media jumping aboard the bandwagon of whatever nonsensical pseudo-scandal the GOP happened to be obsessing over at that moment. Now, we have a real fucking scandal involving serious misuse of tax dollars and the exploitation of four dead Americans for presidential politics. Where is the media? Why is this not being treated more seriously? Why do I get the feeling that abso-fucking-lutely no one is going to be held accountable for this nonsense?

(2,978 posts)But I feel a few HRC supporters are unclear that we stand in solidarity with them in this cause.
Just because some of us have policy differences with Hillary doesn't mean we aren't righteously incensed when these Republican moral cretins abuse one of our own, a woman who has worked very hard in her own way and sacrificed so much in her personal life to advance some progressive causes. It's appalling.

(45,984 posts)There quite likely something that would stick, but a congresscritter has a pretty wide latitude when he is "investigating" something, even if he isn't really investigating.
"Beyond a reasonable doubt" to convict of a criminal offense would have to be way, way, way beyond a reasonable doubt in this case.

(2,978 posts)I really don't know. I'm hoping the lawyers here will help me out.
Siegelman suffers in prison, Martha Stewart (D) is prosecuted and imprisoned on a BS charge, African Americans can't have their cars broken down on the side of the road without getting assassinated by police (imprisonment would have been a luxury).
I guess I'm just kvetching in frustration that his and his pals' actions don't rise to some level of criminality, were there a Justice Dept (or federal district) willing to go fishing for it. They fished among Hilary's records with a lot less cause than we have now.
Is there no basis to investigate? I really don't know and welcome your legal analysis if you have that b/g.

(45,984 posts)I don't like Mrs. Clinton and I don't want her to be president. However, the Republicans wouldn't touch any of the real skeletons in her closet. Those involve her being a war hawk and an adherent to trickle down economics. Those really aren't crimes, and if they are, then every Republican in congress or last three Republican administrations is also guilty of them in spades.
So they can't complain about anything but Benghazi or her mails. The Republicans are pathetic.

Hillary's candidacy through no fault of her own will be all about trumped up Hillary scandals.

(39,215 posts)the political party has to pay for it. IMO when a party high jacks a committee for political reasons the party should also have to pay the costs. Send the GOP a bill for the costs of all these political committees.
