Bernie has drawn in large numbers of disenfranchised already (which makes up 66% of the total voters). He's drawing large interest from independents and is even siphoning interest from Republicans. He has proven in his own state in various races he can win over large blocks of independent and Republican voters with his view points (which haven't changed in decades). The head to head polls against Republicans show him favorably (equal or better than Hillary in many cases).

If you don't like his positions, I get that. If you think he's not the best option for the country, I understand. But how exactly is Bernie unelectable? Are you implying the Democrats wouldn't support him in the general election over a Republican?

that Bernie won't also get in the general election. Are you saying Democrats wouldn't vote for him if he's the nominee? Are you saying she has wider appeal among independents and Republicans? Do you think she will draw out more current non-voters than Bernie?

I have seen nothing anecdotal nor in the polls that states Bernie would have a harder time in the generals than Hillary would. It's simply a myth that he's unelectable. Both are capable of winning the general election.

I'm sorry if that offends some people, but it's straight from him.

The simple fact is that on economic issues the mainstream Democratic party now is where the Republicans were 30 years ago. That's how far right we've drifted.

We can't have an honest discussion on liberal vs conservative without breaking apart economic and social views. We have always been much more liberal on social issues (at least since the southern ideology switch in parties). That's held true under Obama. However, our party has become much more like old Republicans on economic issues (and the current Republicans have gone clear off the deep end). That's not an indictment on Obama. He has simply matched a trend of Democratic leadership over the past 30 years. Hillary's views align with his. Bernie is the only one looking to do an about face on our economic policies back to the left.

However, I do like the way Madame President sounds. I wouldn't pick a fight over it though

Trump than Hillary is. The latest CNN poll has it Sanders over Trump 53-44. Clinton only leads Trump 50-45 which is barely outside of the statistical margin of error.

Of course, she has to be in order to be a woman candidate and actually be a front runner, too.

She loses to Sanders on every issue. The only reason to vote for her, unless of course you're a conservative, is her gender. I think the authoritarian DLC wing of the party has come to believe that perpetual war is good, that Americans don't deserve healthcare, that wall street should run the country, that teachers unions are why our education system is so awful, that social security should be privatized, and all of the rest of the Fox world view. Then they complain when people don't vote.

I greatly admire Frederick Douglass.

Hillary lost my vote, my trust, and my respect when she voted to give GW Bush authority to invade Iraq.

She is terribly unqualified to be president based on her foreign policy record, which her supporters inexplicably point to as one of her strengths. She's "strong" on foreign policy in the same vein as GW Bush -- ready and eager to flex military muscles in the next costly fiasco laden with unintended consequences.

The military industrial complex and Wall Street undoubtedly would no doubt be pleased to call her Madam President.
