Bernie Sanders Favorability Ratings Skyrocketed During the Past Two Weeks
By Maegan Vazquez
]The latest candidate to gain on overall favorable ratings in our most recent poll is a big surprise for both the establishment left and right.
Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders saw upticks in their favorability ratings, according to the latest poll conducted by Google Consumer Surveys for IJ.com, but Clintons small gains have been overshadowed by a leap from Sanders.
Senator Sanders has seen a jump from 36% to 44% favorability rating among very likely voters polled:
The spike is, of course, likely attributed to Sanders performance during the first ever, 2016 Democratic presidential debate.
Although multiple polls suggest that Hillary Clinton won the debate, our GCS poll had Sanders in the lead by 15 points.
While Sanders was winning big following the CNN debate, Hillary Clinton inched forward, too.
Heres what her most recent favorables look like:
However, it seems that Clinton has also failed to gain back ground with...<snip>

(58,347 posts)Bernie Sanders Has Raised A Phenomenal $3.2 Million In Less Than 3 Days
The Democratic debate as energized Bernie Sanders supporters as the Democratic candidate raised an amazing $3.2 million in three days this week all from small donors.
According to the Sanders campaign:
And in a remarkable turn of events, there has been a record surge in online donations this week. More than 97,800 contributions poured in totaling some $3.2 million since Tuesday, when the first Democratic debate was held in Las Vegas, through mid-afternoon on Thursday. The average donation $32.28.
Also on the day after the debate, Sanders attracted 1,100 people to a $25-per-person fundraiser and rally on Wednesday in Southern California. It was only the eighth traditional fundraiser of his campaign. A ninth event was held that same evening with tickets going for $250 and up.
(snip)
For the sake of comparison, the Hillary Clinton campaign has raised $5 million from people giving less than $200 in the last four months.
(snip)
What often gets overlooked is that Sen. Sanders is raising more money from small donors than all of the Republican candidates are from their billionaire backers. Cash is vital to a successful campaign, but money must be converted to an organization and votes.

(2,335 posts)I don't care whether this was an all democratic voter sample. It's the GOP lizard brain that hates HRC and seems ok with Bernie that pleases me.

(62,325 posts)YOU know if that is what you are experiecing?
Hillary is also 'old' and 'white'. Is that what the criteria is for people you know?
The people I know who did not support Hillary in 2008 had zero to do with 'repuplican lizard brains'.
They supported Obama because was so much better on the issues.
And that is the same reason why they oppose her now, she has been just awful on some of the most important issues of the past several decades.
Wrong on so many, then changing her mind during elections. THAT is why people are not supporting her.
And it isn't because of emails or Bengazi either. That's what her campaign would like us to think.
No one I know hates anyone who is running in this election. 'Hate' it's such a wasted emotion causing more harm to the haters than their targets.
How sad to think there are people out there who hate politicians. I'm sorry for you that you seem to be familiar wth such people.

(21,112 posts)This afternoon I saw an older white women with a Bernie button and a young 17 year black women said to her she was a big Bernie fan to the older women wearing the button. I also chimed in and said I was feeling the Bern. I have yet to see a trump button, poster or bumper sticker yet. At this point I remember to start seeing Obama stuff but not like I've seen with Bernie. I even saw a guy in London England last month wearing a Bernie a Sanders shirt.
And I got a Bernie sign in my window something I didn't do with President Obama.
