Warren Tells 2016 Dems To Cut Wall Street Ties

Warren Tells 2016 Dems To Cut Wall Street Ties

She declared guilt by association. The Massachusetts liberal stalwart has sworn off a 2016 White House campaign but Elizabeth Warren is warning Hillary Clinton and other Democrats against appointing cabinet members who have worked in the market. Speaking at the liberal Netroots Nation conference, she specifically wants candidates to support legislation by Sen. Tammy Duckworth, which would prohibit bonuses for Wall Street executives who later take jobs in the federal government. Clinton has made some conciliatory promises to her liberal base but Warren’s speech shows the left will be watching Clinton’s moves closely throughout the campaign.

I suspect those who benefit from Wall Street will continue to do their bidding.

Polls show Bernie has a better chance in the GE. Hillary will energize the GOP base which is not unified behind Trump.

History says the GOP is supposed to win the GE because we are completing a two-term Dem presidency. Republican voters will turn out to defeat HRC. The Democratic Party needs to do something bold in 2016 to get a relatively high turnout i.e. 55% or greater. I believe the best chance by far is Bernie in the GE. He will turnout people who don't vote, especially Millenials. Even Republicans will vote for Bernie, e.g. veterans.

off the mark. HRC has accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars for her personal fortune from Wall Street, not counting the millions she's gotten for her campaign, and many millions for her foundation. These business people expect a return on their investment. A big return. Quid pro quo.

Last week, Reuters reported that some banks, including Citigroup (C) and J.P. Morgan (JPM), might withhold campaign contributions to Senate Democrats because of Warren's negative portrayal of Wall Street.

And as she says when confronted with this question,

http://www.bostonherald.com/news_opinion/us_politics/2012/01/elizabeth_warren_out_raises_scott_brown_defends

“There are people on Wall Street who actually believe we need better rules, fairer rules,” Warren said last night as she toured small businesses in Davis Square in Somerville.

“That’s what I stand for. I’ve gone toe-to-toe with these financial institutions. A lot of people understand if you don’t have tough rules and a tough cop on the beat, the whole system is going to come down around us.”

There are actual very wealthy individuals, like Warren Buffett for instance, that agree with Elizabeth Warren. Why should she give money back to those individuals that AGREE with her? I doubt if CityGroup or Goldman Sachs are on that list.

in such 'nonsense'. Warren, according to the Third Way founders, needs to 'reign it in' because they 'have had enough of her nonsense'. Those are Hillary's friends.

The people, to them, are of no interest.

to rein in Wall St. are to either kick the neoliberal politicians to the curb through political revolution, and keep Wall St. under guard 24/7, or for the people to rise up and take back our country through focused and sustained direct action as part of a non-violent democratic revolution in the streets and the marketplace.
