1. There's that old bullshit about "uncertainty"
Fri Aug 17, 2012, 08:01 AM

"Experts said New Jersey businesses are still beset by uncertainty three years after a crippling U.S. recession, while government payrolls at the state and local levels continue to shrink."

"Uncertainty"

...The usual ass backwards explanation for lack of economic activity. People need money in their pockets. The uncertainty of whether or not you will have a job next month or if you will find a job this year is the problem.

Christie has contributed to the problem actively through his Republican policies. Just yesterday I spoke to a woman who lost her job and her boss went out of business because Christie backed out on the tunnel to NY. He did it because it was Republican policy to not let Obama have any project that might lower the unemployment rate and boost the economy.

Businesses would have no uncertainty if people with money in their pockets were out there spending it!

How many teachers and other public workers lost their jobs since he took office.

Some one needs to crunch those numbers.

I live in NJ and he gets a pass because he's essentially become a TV/Youtube personality instead of a politician.

If you ask some people, they can't name a thing he's done aside from telling people to get off the beach or getting in an argument with teachers and at the shore.

Its a strategy thats worked for him tho, he'd easily win reelection which is a shame. If it was just on his job performance, Booker would beat him easily

If it is done right a trend can be created that spreads far and wide getting more people to talk about it even if the media doesn't.

the President has large ears. Would it be OK to add to phrase "Dumbo eared Obama" to every statement about him? My opinion is that adding physical attributes of individuals in a negative way if those physical attributes have nothing to do with the substance of the argument reduce the level of discourse to that found on the schoolyard.

He stands up in town hall meetings denigrating regular people who don't like his policies and when you ask him a question he lashes out embarrassing people in front of a town hall. And the republican Party in this state and on a national level thinks this shit is cute and calls him a guy with a lot of guts. He even belittled a Former Navy Seals guy in a town hall he gets away with this bullying because he has the NJ State Police as his body guards so I appreciate your comment but disagree

his physical appearance have to do with your point? In fact, wouldn't have calling him "bully Christie" given the readers of your OP more information concerning your opinion?

The commenter makes a great point... And why alienate and hurt a large group of people on DU, as well?

low unemployment in a state is a sign of a strong governor. It always seems to work this way.

11. Can we stop with the "fat" comments? Christie is a failure, and an asshole, but the fat thing is old

I'm not overly-PC, but I've noticed that "fat" is the last bastion of bullying that seems okay, even on DU.

Let's go after his hideous personality, and his terrible work. But skip that "fat boy" and "twinkies" stuff already. Do you think that all DUers are 120 lbs?

The guy is a train wreck on his own account.. no need to pile anything else on. Takes away from the message, and it hurts people's feelings. I try to take the approach with stuff like that by asking myself if I'd use the same personal slurs about someone's race, or religion.
