2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI'm loving the Politico Swing State map right now! (predict Obama 332 electoral votes)
http://www.politico.com/2012-election/swing-state/I don't know what the situation has to be for the corporate media to admit that Obama is kicking Romney's ass.
I do know this: that the media is the ultimate recipient of Romney's HUGE PAC money and that the more it's "a close race" the more money will be spent.

Romney's got all the Sheldon Adelson/Koch Bro big bucks, it's Christmas for Corporate Media as long as its a "horserace!"

This map shows how hopeless the Romney chances really are, imo.

(15,667 posts)which sounds completely pathetic, I mean the big "surprise" was gonna be Donald Trump saying "you're fired" to Faux-bama? Gawwwd! Pretty corny even by GOP standards and hello good luck acting like Bush/Cheney never existed.

(2,404 posts)Trump got involved it was a disaster...I still laugh to myself remembering how Obama skewered him with the timing of the Bin Laden raid and the images of what the White House would look like if it were Trump occupied.

(18,541 posts)I feel empathy for the Obama family on a lot of different levels, but when it comes down to it, I"ve asked my own sister, three times now, if it's not just about race. She says no, but I still don't believe her. No matter how many times I ask her to check Snopes before passing gas, It still gets through.
Obama is, and has been, the best President of my lifetime, and I don't say that lightly. I was the last gay boy Clinton saw on his way to the "don't ask, don't tell" speech, and I was the first one to give him the thumbs down on the way out. Asshole, and the reason I never even considered voting for Hillary. They invented the DLC, and it failed so many of us - and not just the queers. The last decent Dem in office was Carter.
The Obama Administration has been, from the get-go, a chance to start over. They can't do shit with a teabagger led Congress. We need to expose their obstruction on a level that even the Teabaggers can understand. How low can we go? Yeah, I know, it's just telling the truth, but dayum, who's going to believe it?

(22,000 posts)Of the several electoral maps out there, none of them are even close to a consensus. I'm waiting until after the conventions to take them seriously. I think once the conventions are done and gone, more uniform electoral maps will began to emerge giving us a better idea of what the race looks like.

(4,551 posts)Has anyone noticed that CNN's Electoral Map seems to be the worst for Obama? It is VERY generous to Romney. It even puts Nevada in the Toss-Up category, despite the fact that most projections have it leaning Obama.
Romney has not lead in a single poll in Nevada all year.
