Ohio Secretary Of State Threatens To Remove Democrats Over Weekend Voting Hours Rule

The top Ohio elections official, a Republican, has threatened to remove from office some Democratic elections board members as the state's regular, bitter battles over voting procedures intensify.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, after setting a uniform standard for early voting hours across the state on Wednesday, is facing a revolt from some Democratic elections board members, who have suggested they will refuse to comply with his new rule.

have to happen in all these states that are openly grifting for the Grifter Ticket

there has to be some major civil disobedience going to occur - the people in PA will never be able to get the required ID they need before election, it is just not going to happen and there will be nearly 1 million voters disenfranchised

If this is allowed to happen we might as well just shut up the shop doors

and the voter registration events. James E. Chaney, 21; Andrew Goodman, 21; and Michael Schwerner, 24, had been working to register black voters in Mississippi -- they died. After all that was accomplished with the Voting Rights Act of 1965, are we really going to go back to discriminatory laws preventing certain people from voting? SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

I have felt for a long time that Secretaries of State should not be allowed to have control over the voting process - it is asking for trouble.

Is it like this in other Western countries? As far as I know, it is usually an independent elections agency & commission that handles these things.

Having a partisan individual who is a member of a political party in charge of the rules can lead to the possibility of corruption.

Many people think that's what happened in Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004 with Katherine Harris and Ken Blackwell, respectively.
