On CNN's "Your Money" today Will Cain explained why the GOP could not give specifics.

He compared the GOP plan to a garden where you till it then leave and let things grow, hoping that it all grows like crazy vs. the Democratic way where you till it and weed it and tend it. Both represent the differing ways each party sees government and the economy. He said there are stories associated with the Democratic way of growing the economy because there is intervention along the way. There are not stories associated with the no interventionist way because it happens due to competition and entrepreneurship which don't come with stories. You just let it happen. (I have not explained it exactly but you get the picture). I call bullshit. The GOP is just looking for excuses for why they have job creation success stories and have not run the numbers on their policy plans (or have run them and refuse to give them out and/or refuse to give anyone else enough budget details for them to run the numbers). This is a Chauncey Gardener GOP meme.

2. Chrystia Freeland was on with Will Cain. She pointed out, because she grew up on a farm in Canada,

that farmers no longer till the soil. So CNN was being fair. I just thought it was an interesting meme from the GOP to give them an excuse for not giving any specifics on how their policies or economics work. So don't fault CNN.

4. it's really bullshit because republicans believe in intervention too. their jobs depend on it.

it's just that reasonable people recognize their style of intervention as thinly disguised bribes, kickbacks, and shakedowns.

republicans are always sticking choice loopholes in for big corporate contributors.
republicans are always strengthening the legal powers and limiting the liabilities and responsibilities of big corporations
republicans are invariably picking winners (big corporations) and losers (mom and pop shops)
republicans are always meddling in the labor market on behalf of employers and union-busters.
republicans are always intervening on behalf of corporate takers and abusers who polute and poison and damage without informing or compensating.

free market my ass!

republicans believe in a controlled economy, just as long as it's them and their big corporations doing the controlling.

the only part of the gardening analogy that works is that republicans certainly spread a lot of manure around.

7. The GOP must be hoping people will follow this gardening analogy instead of asking for the 'facts

and why CNN is allowing him to litter so many of their shows is crazy. He's made Soldad O'Brien's show completely unwatchable.
