Sanders campaign: We'll consider Hillary for veep

Sanders campaign: We'll consider Hillary for veep
DANIEL STRAUSS
Politico

In an interview with Bloomberg Politics' John Heilemann, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver was asked if he thought the Democratic front-runner was a "craven hypocrite" for moving to the left on a number of issues like the Keystone pipeline and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, effectively bringing her closer to the liberal Sanders on the political spectrum.

"A craven hypocrite?" Weaver responded with a grin described in the story as "sly." "That's a little bit harsh, don't you think?"

Weaver then added, "We're willing to give her more credit than Obama did. We're willing to consider her for vice president. We'll give her serious consideration. We'll even interview her."

Weaver was mostly joking, Bloomberg Politics went on to say. But the comment is just the latest example of growing tensions between the two major campaigns vying for the Democratic nomination.

“We’d be very happy to have a straight-out debate on issues that matter to people and confine it to that,” Devine said. “But if they’re going to have a campaign that attacks Bernie on gun safety and implies he engages in sexism, that’s unacceptable. We’re not going to stand for that. We’re not going to sit here and let her attack him. We’re going to have to talk about other things if they do that. If they’re going to engage in this kind of attack, they need to understand we’re not going to stand there and take it.”

Once she completes her 2 terms as President, I'm pretty sure she can't be the VP.

The bigger story is that Bernie is going to run again in 2024. I like his spirit!

Literally in a perpetual state of constantly playing the victim card. A campaign that demands constant lavish praise for its figurehead. Any critique is met with chants of "media conspiracy", or "DNC conspiracy", or "oligarchy conspiracy". Do bad at debate, blame the moderators. Take a picture with Hillary, and your social media page is flooded with anger and insults.

I imagine as Hillary continues to build coalitions, the teeth-gnashing will increase.

The most thin skinned one is the one that prowls for any word that night possibly have sexist connotations and then when they find it, use it in a totally distorted way to play the victim.

Maybe I should amend that. The candidate and the campaign inner circle doesn't give a damn what word Sanders used. They just saw it as an opportunity to manipulate the thin skinned followers of the candidate, and nasty down the campaign to personal matters rather than issues.

Two items for your non-Canadian ears (eyes):

1) Drawing comparisons is not veering off the high road. You wanna see veering off the high road, revisit Hillary Clinton's 2008 campaign. Lowest of the low. How you can touch that thing with a 10-foot pole is beyond me.

2) Bernie's not careening uncontrollably downhill, but it's obvious that you, like certain other despicable followers of Hillary, say such things in a childish spirit of spite, which does nothing for my opinion of you nor for your candidate. Now I understand that you don't care what I think of you, but I do vote and do spread the word as best I can. Y'all like to talk about Trump vs. Hillary to make us support her, but we could make the same blackmail threats to you: turn us off too badly and Hillary might not have the winning edge in the General, if she gets that far. Just a thought.

I really appreciate your letting me know.

Since the Hillary camp think they're winning, it's surprising how badly they've been behaving in recent days. I wish someone could explain the increase in negative intensity.

Sometimes I think certain people are beyond help. (Which, as a bleeding-heart liberal, makes me kinda sad.)
