(135,425 posts)I think she's not stupid. I also think she signed that Run-Hill-Run letter early on for a reason.
And when she met with Biden? I think she was either telling him "Are you NUTS? Don't even try," or they were both working a long con to take heat off Clinton and eat up the news cycle at the height of Email Benghazi Oh My! Whatever the reason, it had the latter effect.
I think she'll save her endorsement for a key moment. Maybe she wants something...? Treasury? Fed Chair (I think she was born to do that job)?
I think some people on this board confuse her liberal stance on banking and social issues with a rather free spirited POV, and I don't think she's "there" at all. She is still conventional, and a product of her upbringing, in many ways. She still carries a bit of that old GOP baggage. She's not AT ALL in favor of pot legalization, for example, which puts her out of step with a lot of her constituency. She is very attentive to the Military Industrial Complex industries in Massachusetts (jobs, jobs, jobs) and though she remains opposed to the death penalty, she "got over it" when it came to the Marathon bomber--she's not making a federal case out of it.

And thanks for reminding us that the 'Not Hillary' Party really wanted Senator Warren and settled for Senator Sanders.

And we do need Bernie.
GO Bernie!!

(9,497 posts)Not because she was a woman, but because she was fearless at pushing back at big money. She is decidedly for getting big money out of politics, for breaking up the too big to fail banks and for restoring the middle class. She is not tepid nor a shape shifter. Her evolving doesn't seem to come in small increments and after careful polling.
Yes she had been a republican. Her party left her and the people she cares about.
She didn't want to run.
Bernie had a meeting with her before he threw his hat into the ring. I think, no evidence, that he was making sure she wouldn't run because I believe he would have been her biggest supporter.
He saw that there would be no voice for Warren's issues and many other issues of importance if no one really challenged Hillary.
And he stepped in.
He is even better than Warren. He encompasses more than just the economics. He is so strong on war, climate, big money, equality and has the same courage to speak his mind with conviction. His history is a map of his ethics and morals. He has long and hard been someone who has done very little politicking to get along.
He isn't perfect, just the nearest thing by a long shot.
