Have you noticed that the Romney campaign has yet to have one successful new cycle

Last edited Fri Aug 31, 2012, 10:12 AM - Edit history (1)

edited to add: This is from a week ago. Most incompetent campaign of the modern area. Now wait for the Obama campaign to go full charge.

Looked like he was about to make number one and then he turned jokester with the birther comment.

Today's passing of Neil Armstrong takes the news cycle main attention focus.

I have never seen a more incompetent campaign.

Look at all the money they are spending to get him elected and they can't even get the news coverage for more than 3 hours/day? Ann was going to be bypassed re: coverage until they switched her speech to Tuesday.

If it really is tied after this pathetic performance by Lurch, we, as a country, are fucked!

Not sure that it wouldn't be better if Isaac left Tampa alone because that parade of speakers looks like it came from the Circus Hall of Fame: birthers, conceptionists, clowns, magic acts, elephant parades, contortionists, lyons, ... Having all that on display could be good for Dems.

Nixon/Goldwater 2012, leading backwards!

I'm not feeling so sanguine about it, however, and I doubt that Romney is feeling worried. This is kind of like the situation in 2000. VAST differences between the candidates, but the political environment of America is so screwed up that the neo-GOP was still able to keep it close enough to steal. This time they have an ENORMOUS advantage in the money, and in the last week before the election you are going to be dazzled by a flood of ads showing President Obama eating puppies, kittens, and babies.

At this point I think Romney has decided that they don't need any free publicity from the regular mass media. Talking with REAL journalists is just a silly risk. Someone might have a Todd-Akin moment and say some insane truth. Why bother? Ignore the media and just buy the ads.

The money advantage doesn't matter much, either, when both campaigns have enough to get their message out.

but in this particular instance I'm not sure you can cite the passing of an astronaut and the arrival of a hurricane as evidence of incompetence. But there's loads of stuff you could cite.

But then Napoleon held that luck was an important attribute in a general..

and that's the thing.

If you are competent, one week of bad luck can be overcome.

If you are grossly incompetent you leave no room for bad luck. He has lost week after week to gross incompetence. Sooner or later, luck was going to have a swing at him too.

Romney has had a series of missteps lately. Makes me wonder how he ever became Governor.

Apparently former governor Crist is endorsing Obama. The hurricane is coming.

Their platform is going to be 100% about abortion in the media.

It's their own fault.
