2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumYou just witnessed the apex of Paul Ryan's career & it wasn't even all that spectacular...
In four years, no one will be talking about Paul Ryan. He might make a token run at the presidency, but he'll be dominated by Jeb and Christie because his personality just doesn't do anything for anyone. Oh but he's wonkish! Well that won't be enough to overcome being on a losing ticket.
In the next 24 hours, the media will talk up a rising star and how Ryan will be #1 in 2016 if Romney doesn't win ... but I don't buy it. There is a reason losing running mates rarely return to the national political scene again and it's because they can never shake the stank of losing an election.
Ryan won't be blamed for Romney losing, but he's also not going to get out of this without a few devastating dings.

(20,998 posts)Bring on the dings. Ryan, for lack of a better word, is a twerp. He is already a career politician that lies through his teeth like he's been doing it for decades. I hope this election and subsequent defeat are painful for Ryan, and the more painful, the better.
