What I think the Obama campaign needs to do

Ryan's big sell last night was newness and youth. Also personality.

I think the Obama campaign needs to point out that it's simply old, tired ideas that have been proven NOT to work - a trickle-down economy, aggressive military stance in the world, going back to the old health care delivery model - in a shiny new package.

You can put lipstick on a pig to pretty it up but it is still a pig. Ryan is the lipstick and the GOP agenda is the pig. SSDD.

As well as attacking the lies.

I don't put it past Obama/Biden to be able to defuse Ryan's newness. I don't think Ryan brought ANY surprises last night. We KNEW his would be the most energized speech. He is such a self-satisfied phony. Glad he's being called out on all his lies!

Hi all--my demographics -female-mid-40s-south Florida-politically active

Here's my take--I think the consensus in the media seems to be: overall Christie rated a flop, overall Ann R a success, overall Condi a success, Ryan ok, but totally dishonest which means he could be dangerous. I can't bear to watch them, but I do listen and read commentary. Howard Fineman's point last night was that Ryan used the words "old" alot to describe Obama- all of a sudden Obama is now old guard. I know the talk is that some of his larger donors haven't been happy with not having their rings kissed, and with an economy only now recovering he doesn't want to seem elitist with too much star power, BUT they need to inject energy and youth into the campaign again. Romney/Ryan can't be viewed as the youthful change ticket. I am hoping that the convention is going to be well executed and include some of those type of optics!

flip every rhetorical trick used in Tampa. Don't make Obama do all the work before then.

The campaign needs to demolish every innuendo and disinfo presented during this convention. Billboards in flyover country, radio ads on Clear Channel/Limbaugh stations are good, too. Take the facts to non-urban territory in swing states.
