People on the GOP podium stating they have been helped by Mitt Romney

It seems like most of these folks who have been helped by Mitt Romney are Mormons. Nothing wrong with that. But I don't think it is unusual at all to be helped by your fellow church members. So why the major GOP focus on these simple acts by Romney?
