A New Year's prediction: Sanders's small donation surge keeps growing
By Brent Budowsky, columnist, The Hill

The month is ending, and the quarter is ending, and that means it is time for the next quarterly presidential campaign fundraising reports to be released. I predict that, within days, we'll learn that the Bernie Sanders campaign has achieved yet another new surge in the number of small donors and the amount of money raised from those donors will again stun and amaze the political world.

It seems that almost every major campaign event brings more small donors to the Sanders campaign and more money raised from those small donors. Even when Sen. Sanders (I-Vt.) is under attack from the Hillary Clinton-biased Democratic National Committee, the result is another explosion of small donations to his campaign.
The great value of small donors is that their contributions tend to be recurring and are often repeated as the campaign moves from one state to another, creating a large pool of incoming money and a steady stream that continues as the campaign moves from state to state.

The number of small donations to the Sanders campaign has already grown to more than 2 million and that number will be even higher when the coming quarter financial report is released, and will probably surpass 3 million by sometime in January.

I make it a point to follow the Sanders campaign on social media and can report that his social media program is stronger than ever and the impact of his social media strategy is continuing to grow more powerful every day...

What cuts to the quick is not having any large donors necessary to fight the GOP. nt SunSeeker Jan 2016 #11

No, Bernie won't. Hillary has volume AND large donors. nt SunSeeker Jan 2016 #15
Bernie has a larger donor base who can give again jfern Jan 2016 #17
Nope. No one is maxed out for the GE--that is considered a separate election. SunSeeker Jan 2016 #18

Chelsea. I feel honored that we're all on a first name basis, but I didn't "join her team" and I am not going to donate $1 to her as she has requested... as many as 3 times a day.

Yesterday Hillary told me in an email that it would be "one of the last times" of the year she would be begging me for money. This was at 5:30PM on New Years Eve. I received 2 more before the ball dropped.

A President is beholden to those who got him or her into office. I would rather they be millions of people like me than a few filthy rich oligarchs. Besides, Sanders beats all comers head to head vs any passengers of the clown car.

P.S. it also looks like Bernie may have out raised Hillary in dollars for December. We'll see in a few days I'm sure.

Just like how she voted against the PLCAA as Senator, while Bernie voted with the Republicans to pass the PLCAA, giving special immunity to gun manufacturers.

I don't want to go tit for tat on who voted for what. That's already been done here a 100 times.

I'm done playing.

Hillary has repeatedly said her IWR vote was a mistake, based on false assertions of WMDs, from folks hardly known to be liars, like Colin Powell. No one lied to Bernie to get him to vote for the PLCAA. He still won't admit it was a mistake.

Congratulations to Secretary Clinton on her successful efforts as well. All of our candidates have legitimate small donor support.

We can count on that.

Bernie is the Real Deal and he is for the American people.
