2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhich choice do you think Senator Warren is most likely to make this year?
(assuming, as I believe is the case, that it's too late her to get on any primary ballots herself, of course. If that assumption is incorrect, please let me know).

I think Bernie will take half of the Super Tuesday states. It will then be apparent that this is will be a long-haul, hotly contested, competitive primary. Similar to 2008.
I think Warren will endorse Bernie sometime after Super Tuesday, to help him secure the nomination.

(11,945 posts)I will understand if Warren wants to wait until after the nomination, but if she were to come out for Bernie after Super Tuesday I would be so in awe of her, so proud of her for it.
May your vision come true!
(But I won't hold it against her if she chooses the more cautious route.)

(21,714 posts)She may just wait until the presumptive nominee has enough delegates. I think she is being wise in not naming her choice early

(11,945 posts)so she'd have to be out of her mind to directly endorse Hillary. However, Hillary is also an influential Democrat with a huge power base, a powerful husband and many significant contacts, so Sen. Warren can't just come out and oppose her.
Bernie matches Senator Warren's views extremely well on most points, but he is an Independent, and Sen. Warren has to consider her political future within the Democratic Party. (Yes, she does and we want her to, because we want her to remain very effective in her job.)
Therefore, she will keep mum about her preference and support whomever the Democrats nominate. But I am pretty darn sure she'll be hoping it's Bernie.
And those of us who want a genuinely liberal/progressive president will be right there with Elizabeth hoping that Bernie gets the nomination.

(46,436 posts)until after the convention. I'm sure she admires Hillary as an accomplished woman, but ideologically I suspect she's more aligned with Bernie. If I were in her position, I wouldn't endorse either of them until after the nominee is chosen.

(35,619 posts)She's one of the most popular politicians with the base, and so it would make sense for the DNC to ask her to speak at the convention.
