Hillary Clinton Stands With President Obama And Applauds His Executive Actions On Guns

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is standing with President Obama and supporting his executive actions to reduce gun violence.

In a statement, the Democratic frontrunner said:

When I came out with my proposals for common sense gun safety measures, I did say that in the absence of Congressional action, I would use executive authority to go as far as would be possible under the law and I applaud the President for taking a hard look at that and I believe he will take some actions to require more gun sellers to do background checks,” Clinton said of the anticipated proposal.

Clinton warned: “I know that a Republican president would delight in the very first day, reversing executive orders that President Obama has made, including this one that we expect him to make.”

the country is behind executive action with respect to gun control. I haven't seen the focus group you are referencing but it is a nice change from what I have been reading. Thanks for the info.

I'm glad other people are using the "Yeah, me too!" label for Clinton.

I've been saying for a while that should be her real campaign slogan,.

Let's see how effective whatever they are are going to be. I sadly think it will be doing things that are already law and should just be enforced like I have been calling on gorgeous a long time.

And it is something the Federal Government does often. Reclassifying business. This truly could close the gunshow loophole. Not only that, it has already passed the constitutional test.

An intrastate sale between two people can happen anywhere in the state. It becomes a little more problematic as it is a 10th amendment state issue also.

unless it is defined as "one gun in your lifetime". And that is not going to happen. The vast majority of private sales involve people that are not selling guns as a business but are either trying to raise cash or want to upgrade to a better gun. They are not selling guns on a regular basis nor are they buying guns specifically to sell them.

I think the time where something COULD HAVE been done has long passed.

So, we'll have some more enforcement, I assume on local and federal levels but I see no way the laws can be effectively enforced on a state or nationwide basis.

My hope glass is broken when it comes to any effective gun control.

There are too many here that read every post as an opportunity to trash the candidate they are not currently supporting for the nomination.

News flash: Alien warships heading towards Earth!
First DU reaction: How can I spin this for/against either Clinton/Sanders?

I'm really getting sick and tired of her copy catting. It's like she has to get approval from Bill before opening her mouth.

Can anyone come up with a better excuse?

I hope I am, but I can't come up with anything else at this point.

Here's my larger concern. She has consistently followed Bernie on items that she too should be looking at. But it's not coming from her. It's coming from Bernie.

Does anyone wonder why Bernie is always the one that sticks his neck out for you and I? Answer: His heart and soul are into this election, supporting the disappearing middle class. That's where Bernie has been his entire political career. I can't say the same for HRC. Otherwise, why isn't she coming up with these ideas first? Why does she have to give Bernie's ideas a few days before supporting them, time and time again?

I'm sorry, Bernie is the one putting his ass on the line every time, for ME. FOR YOU!!! FOR ALL OF THE MIDDLE CLASS!!! He's got my ass covered. And I'd take him as my wing man any day.

HRC appears to be the follower. Look at the facts.

She doesn't have a thought in her head.

If not for either Bill, Bernie or Obama to put ideas in there for her, she's got nothing.

I get what you're saying.
