Bernie is running out of steam?

Several posts indicate Bernie has peaked.

You wouldn't know it by his fund raising. It took over 6 weeks for the Bernie Group to raise the first $4,000. In mid December I lowered the goal for the month because donations dropped after Thanksgiving.

Then in the last few days DUers smacked a home run and exceeded the original goal for the month.

Our monthly average is still climbing. It is now $5,678.25. We continue expand with new donors and pledges every month even though we lost some donors.

Grass Roots for Sanders has raised $40,000 in the last week: https://secure.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/39795

I have a good friend who moved back to Iowa dragging her Colorado born Republican husband along with her. She said the local Repubs are so ignorant and rude, he registered as a Democrat so he can vote for Bernie in the primary, along with her and their entire family.
Dems in Iowa are for Bernie, she says. Go Bernie!

that he has no momentum and everyone picked up the talking point. There are going to be interesting times here when the caucuses conclude. Keep talking.

...and that was a month ago.

Since that time, he has gained momentum.

At the very least, it's a nine-point game. That poll was taken before the DNC antics, and Hillary did not win that round in Iowa. Bernie did.

Your statement, "Hillary is crushing Sanders in Iowa--is a statement that is not rooted in reality.

Furthermore, her political events are not well attended in Iowa. Clinton is getting crowds of 300. Bernie is getting crowds of 2000+. That speaks directly about the enthusiasm he has generated. And you need that enthusiasm and excitement to motivate people to the caucuses. Her campaign seems to be falling flat.

The next Iowa Poll doesn't come out for a couple of weeks, but that poll is the gold standard of polling in Iowa. Nate Silver ranks this poll an A+ for its accuracy and science-based methodology. So many of the polls that I've seen on Iowa are complete bunk. They do not poll Iowa Independents. Independents are the largest voting block in Iowa--41 percent of the population and many of them will caucus for Bernie. Some of those polls exclude EVERYONE under the age of 26, because they only call people who have caucused before. Those polls have lazy methodology and are crap.

not be viable in the vast majority of Iowa precincts.

You need 15 percent of the total room to be "viable" at your Iowa caucus.

O'Malley is polling at around 7 percent. He may find pockets of stronger support. There are 1700 Iowa precincts, so there could be areas where he will have 15 percent of the room. But probably not common. Or he could get a surge at the end of the always-hard-to predict latter stages of the Iowa caucus season.

Given all of that, O'Malley supporters will have two choices if they don't reach that 15 percent viability. They'll have to sit out the race (and most do not) or they will have to join another candidate camp.

Where will they go? Will be interesting to see.

are rewriting political history and setting a new standard which will forever alter political presumptions.
which any blind fool could have seen coming.
the aftermath will be littered with wisdom mongers fully exposed and writhing in defeat.
It wont be pretty, but it will be pretty good.

He even said in an interview just before X-Mas that the "people keep him energized." And add to the fact he raked in a big chunk of change in Q4. I would go so far to say he can't wait to get up the next day. And Jane is keeping him pumped too.

DU was nearly overrun with "Bernie has peaked" and "Bernie's polling as high as he ever will" and nonsense like that.

Wasn't true then. Isn't true now.
