The subject line is by the author of that piece in that same article referenced above.
Yes, I'm voting for Senator Sanders in the Florida primary, and for the Democratic nominee in November. I just found that funny.

(11,795 posts)That line cracked me up too. Also liked this line: "His speeches are salted with the casual bulls---s, damns, and craps that youd expect from a cranky old liberal." But, it made me realize i am turning into a cranky old liberal.

(8,175 posts)Me too. I say the f word way too often. And I'm an old lady. I don't think we are supposed to use that word.

(11,795 posts)I love hearing old ladies drop the f-bomb. Cracks me up because, as you said, old ladies aren't supposed to use that word. Always takes me by surprise. So, in the spirit of things, have a nice fucking evening!

(8,879 posts)He's interested in informative, probing, relevant media. He's interested showing people that our neighbors are not the enemy even if skin color doesn't match or they look to the east when they pray (I don't really know what direction people look when they pray so sorry if I referred to that wrongly). He's interested in pointing to the out of balance nature of the power held by people vs the power held by people with money. Bernie's bio? Not so interesting to Bernie.

(2,338 posts)My daughter and son-in-law live in Florida. They both support Bernie, but for some reason, don't want to register as Dems in order to vote for him in the primaries. Makes no sense to me. But she can be quirky in many ways. What can I say to her that will convince her that registering as a Dem is not some kind of betrayal of her Independent roots?

(37,457 posts)I don't know what the deadline is for registering to vote in her county, of course.
http://dos.elections.myflorida.com/supervisors/supervisor_elections.asp
That's the link for Supervisors of Elections, who do the registering. You might want to find out the registration deadline for her county and suggest to her my strategy.
Of course, just registering Democratic doesn't mean you are a card-carrying, dyed-in-the-wool-forever-permanent Democrat. It just means you can vote in that primary. She can vote for Republicans (ugh god forbid) and non-partisan candidates and even write in her own choices.
I think once she understands that she MUST register Democratic to vote for Bernie in the primary, then she will just bite the bullet and do it. If Bernie doesn't win the primaries, of course, per his declaration he will not be in the General Election.
Hope that helped.

(2,338 posts)She's pretty bull-headed. I have no idea where she gets that from.
I'll give it another go. Wish me luck.
