As the New Hampshire primary season comes down to its final month, Hillary and her campaign team are employing a strong push for every vote that they can reach, and a multi-layered campaign process that not only relies on Hillary’s own criss-crossing of the state for campaign events, townhalls, speeches, but also, more increasingly, a strong surrogate strategy.

(MANCHESTER, N.H.) -- Hillary Clinton seems to have a strategy for trying to chip away at Bernie Sanders's lead in New Hampshire: Campaign every day, even when you're out of the state.

Clinton sent a battalion of high-profile supporters to the Granite State this week, including her husband, former President Bill Clinton. Minnesota Sen. Al Franken arrived Thursday, while television star Lena Dunham and U.S. soccer legend Abby Wambach will criss-cross the state Friday.

After arriving today in New Hampshire Al Franken was scheduled for four Hillary events.

Franken cracks 'em up in Dover

DOVER — Though he's been a politician for eight years, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) has not lost the wit that made him famous as a writer and performer on "Saturday Night Live." Franken was quick with the jokes as soon as he walked through the door at Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign headquarters in Dover on Thursday.

Franken spoke for about 15 minutes on why he supports former Secretary of State Clinton's bid for the White House. His comments were interspersed with plenty of sarcasm and tongue-in-cheek humor, all of which was greeted with warm laughter from the audience.

"I've known Hillary for 20 years, and she is the smartest, toughest, most experienced and hardest-working person in this race," Franken said. "She's my only choice for president. She will make a great president."

2. I really like Al Franken - he's one of my senators and he's a good one, but

I am so disappointed that he supports Hillary. Sanders' positions are a whole lot closer to the positions Franken has consistently advocated.

BTW, that's not throwing him "under the bus." It is expressing disappointment and a certain amount of puzzlement, which is fair under the circumstances.

Given his close friendship with the members of the Grateful Dead, I have to imagine he doesn't agree with Debbie Wasserman Schultz that we should be sending people to prison for smoking pot.

13. Al Franken's political judgment has been right on from the beginning.

Does he dislike Bernie Sanders? I doubt it very much. They're both in the Senate together. However, he also supports Clinton and clearly believes she will be a good President.

He's one of my two Senators. I've met and talked with him. If I were running for President, I'd want him on my side. His endorsement will help Hillary win in Minnesota. No question about it. Minnesota Democrats love Al. Our other Senator, Amy Klobuchar has also endorsed Clinton, and she, too is well-liked in Minnesota.

Minnesota will be in Clinton's camp following the March 1 precinct caucuses, I'm quite certain.

15. Don't be too sure. Those chickens haven't hatched yet,

so counting them seems to be a bit premature. You are the only non-politician Minnesotan I know of who favors Hillary. Every last one of the assorted liberals, progressives, and people who vote Democratic that I know IRL are strong Sanders supporters (yes, I know; anecdotes aren't data). Bernie lawn signs and bumper stickers are sprouting all over the Twin Cities, but so far I've seen only one sticker for Hillary. In 2008 Obama cleaned Hillary's clock 66% - 32% in the Minnesota caucuses - which I and my fellow Sandernistas will be attending with enthusiasm this year. And Hillary has never been good at caucuses and has previously expressed her disdain for them. Anything could happen, of course; but the endorsements of politicians, even popular ones, won't guarantee a win. As I said, as much as I like Al Franken, his endorsement of someone I don't like very much isn't making me like her more.
