Breaking: Justin Bieber Endorses Sanders

Sharp Drop in Polls Due to Bieber Endorsement

by Millie Neal

Following the public announcement by former tween celebrity Justin Bieber endorsing Bernie Sanders in his primary race for the Democratic nomination, Sanders saw a sharp drop in poll numbers in both Iowa and New Hampshire. A call to Sanders campaign leaders brought a quick response.

A campaign official high in the Sanders hierarchy said, "We categorically reject the endorsement of this has-been entertainer. We are strongly supported by millennial voters and they tell us that Justin Bieber is so five years ago."

Bieber responded with, "Yeah, whatevs. Maybe I'll switch to Trump. I like his hair." He then sped off in his Ferrari 488 Spyder, but got only two blocks before totaling it into a power pole.

I'm more inclined to Adele and Lana Del Rey and more like them, hard to keep up with all the new groups. I STILL subscribe to Rolling Stone magazine, and they have covered a little of him lately. He kind of said he did some really stupid things, finally admitting the obvious. I don't know, could be he's growing out of his "stuff!"

But you never know, just think a younger crowd are his groupies. And I admit I may very well be wrong. Not sure the campaign could have ignored it because of his past antics which were really stupid and over the top! Saying nothing would have had many HERE jumping all over this with some very dumb, stupid comments. WOW, this is a "caught in-between a rock and a hard place" situation.

Nothing from the site at the link in this OP has any credibility at all. That's clear from everything, beginning with the site's name. It's a satire website. It's interesting that you find it necessary to post about credibility with regard to that site.

Nothing authored by someone with the name Millie Neal has any credibility. Humor perhaps, but humor is in the eye of the beholder.

On the other hand, when I post serious things here, you can freely dispute them, but there's no dispute about the credibility of an obvious satirical website. It is what it is, and I make no effort to conceal the nature of articles on that site.

After all, they're "America's Finest News Source." It says so right on their home page. Who can doubt that?

As for day jobs, I have it on good authority that the authors represented on NYSB are all independently wealthy and have no need for what you call "day jobs." They're all truly 1%ers, to be sure.

For example, Millie Neal, the author of this particular article, dropped by yesterday on her way to her private jet. She'll be reporting from Paris next week, I understand, on news of global import. She's a delightful 20-something young lady, with a quick wit and inside knowledge of the showbiz and fashion industry. She's really gucci, in fact.

It is not NYSB's goal to compete in any way with other websites. The Internet is large enough for all of us.

Thank you for your continuing interest in NYSB. We hope you'll share your favorite articles on your Facebook news feed or Twitter, if you are a Tweetster. Remember: All NYSB content can be freely shared. We just ask that you link back to us.

Bernie Sanders Announces Plan for Vermont Cabin on White House Grounds
As President, Sanders Will Live in Cabin - Turn WH into Homeless Shelter
http://newsyoushouldntbelieve.blogspot.com/2015/11/bernie-sanders-announces-plan-for.html
Exclusive to NYSB by Anoo Ryder

In a surprising turn in the Democratic Primary race, Bernie Sanders, who has been flagging in the polls lately, made an announcement that he will forgo living in the luxurious White House quarters provided for Presidents if he is elected.

"I'm building a classic Vermont cabin on The Ellipse to be used as my quarters during the time I am in office. It will be a temporary installation that can be removed at the end of my second term," Sanders told this reporter in a private interview. "I just wouldn't be comfortable in that big old rambling place, frankly. It's just not my style."

When asked what the White House's function would be during his Presidency, he said, "Well, it would make an nice roomy homeless shelter, I think. Maybe we'll do that."

Is this a bid to cast himself as a simple man of the people, as one supporter close to the #feeltheBern organization claimed, or some sort of publicity stunt? The campaign is getting curiouser and curiouser.

When asked what this "Vermont Cabin" will look like, candidate Sanders handed this reporter a photo:

to completely comatose. Successful satire requires a fine hand, not a sledgehammer, which is why hardly anybody is really good at it.

Couldn't find anything to laugh about in that one either, it was just plain mean.

On Fri Jan 8, 2016, 12:59 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

Breaking: Justin Bieber Endorses Sanders
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251984042

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This article is materially misleading. It is heavily camoflaged satire, and from the responses, it is perceived as truth by some. For DU readers who only read the OP and not all the comments, it is plausible sounding The OP's link has similarly misleading articles about Hillary. So I'm testing here to see if such heavily disguised and misleading "satire" is acceptable. If so, I'll post similar articles from the same source about Hillary, and include a footnote that Hillary supporters find the source acceptable. What I particularly object to is the bald-faced lie that Sanders saw a sharp drop in polls in both New Hampshire and Iowa. (I've been a DU member since 2002, and can count on one hand the times I've alerted.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Jan 8, 2016, 01:05 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: satire, yes?
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT

Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's stupid, but that doesn't make it hideable.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

"Heavily camouflaged." From the URL of the site to the ridiculous names of the authors and the About text at the top of the page, the satirical nature of the site is clear. More clear than it might be, in fact, so there is no way to confuse it for a news site. That alert is funnier than the satire, IMO.

94. I'll bet the hack "satire" writer who wrote this is a Hillary supporter.

Why do I think that? All the OPs on that "satire", and I use the term "satire" loosely, blog is a slam against Bernie or Bernie supporters. I bet that hack supported Bernie until Bernie's supporters hurt his fee fees and he had to support Hillary.

Not funny but a little mean spirited and petty.

Conservative Mallard Fillmore:

Even the Trump piece is pretty lame. If you are satirist that can't lampoon Trump, you should pack it in and stick to writing web pages for local handymen and dog poop services.

Donald Trump Disputes Hitler Comparison
Trump Fights Back against Characterization as Nazi

by
Falls Flagg

Recent photographs of GOP candidate, Donald Trump, with his arm outstretched while talking about excluding Muslims from entering the United States, have generated a number of comparisons between Trump and hated German WWII Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.

In response to those drawing the comparison, Trump spoke today, saying, "I'm nothing like Adolf Hitler. He was a petty tyrant who hated Jews. I'm a very, very rich man who has nothing against the Jewish religion at all. I hate it when people compare me with Hitler. I prefer to think of myself more like the benevolent Italian leader, Benito Mussolini. Like me, he was a self-made man. Everyone knows that I love Italy and Italians."

He continued, "As President of the United States, I will keep Muslims out of America, not Jews. I'm nothing like Hitler. If people keep comparing me to him, I will file lawsuits against media companies that do that. I'm very good at winning lawsuits, you know. Why do you think I'm worth billions?"

I apologize for my earlier comments on your blog. Since we both post at Jackpine Manny asked I give you a message so here it is

Please relay a message because I don't have a good sock puppet set up - yet. I think his post is top-notch, and I suggest that he cross-post it to Daily Kos. And he should save a few of these, then send them with a query letter to the New Yorker in case things don't work out with Borowitz - he'd definitely have a shot. And Garrison Keillor's not getting any younger. As soon as the copy and paste functionality is repaired on my computer, I'll be a linkin' like a mother@#$&er!

Now seriously you all know how appreciative Manny is of good satire
