On women's rights, do you agree with this statement?

It is wrong that women working full-time only earn 78 cents for every dollar a man earns.

We have got to move forward and pass the Paycheck Fairness Act into law.

I disagree factually with the statement. Were the statement true, I would agree. JonLeibowitz Jan 2016 #1

Did I at any point say that? See post 12. I agree with you in principle, but disagree on the facts. JonLeibowitz Jan 2016 #15

8. The statement does not compare workers in equal positions

Time in the workforce counts for a lot, as does levels of seniority, as does education (not JUST degree, but area of degree and specialization). A great way to fix this is the FAMILY act, but it is helpful to start with factually correct statements so we can diagnose the problem

The Washington Post explains in great detail how the "facts" are misleading: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/04/02/the-equal-pay-day-factoid-that-women-make-78-cents-for-every-dollar-earned-by-men/

It is wrong that women working full-time earn less than a man earns for equivalent work requiring equivalent skills and experience.

We have got to move forward and pass the Paycheck Fairness Act into law.

The difference between 23% and 7% is important too, because it means there is a lot of work to be done on the family leave and education side as well.

why don't you come out and say it? what are you afraid of?

There's a post about legislation to address the wage gap and you tell us you support something completely unrelated, for medical and family leave?

My votes are my private affairs, certainly not any business of yours.

To answer your question: I certainly did not vote for Obama twice, because I was too young the first time around.

yes, your ballot is secret that's correct.

but to claim some sort of violation of your privacy when you've made it public whom you've voted for, who you will vote for and whom you won't really strains credulity.

as for the rest of the story. well...

Anyway, I'm done. This conversation is clearly not productive, you are not engaging on the issues.

My vote is uncertain until the moment I step into the ballot box.

not that anybody would believe you are actually Jon Stewart (who was born Jon Leibowitz).

but it's a bit odd.

o the ballot in Ohio slip past his efforts. THEN, he apparently didn't care enough about the election to file the papers necessary to even be a write-in candidate, so he just blew off Ohio!
