Headline: 'Trump Could Win It All'

A new survey shows a sizable number of Democrats ready to defect from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump.
U.S. News and World Report - James Warren - Jan. 8, 2016

Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they'd cross sides and vote for Trump, while a small number, or 14 percent, of Republicans claim they'd vote for Clinton. When those groups were further broken down, a far higher percentage of the crossover Democrats contend they are "100 percent sure" of switching than the Republicans.

When the firmed showed respondents the Trump ad, and assessed their responses to each moment of it, it found "the primary messages of Trump's ad resonated more than Democratic elites would hope."

About 25 percent of Democrats "agree completely" that it raises some good point, with an additional 19 percent agreeing at least "somewhat."

Let's get real ... Sen. Sanders has a much better chance of getting these Democrats back with his economic message.
Hillary Clinton is exactly the kind of elitist insider politician that could hand the presidency to Trump.

It won;t make any difference she will not be the candidate regardless of her "inevitability", she will be sidelined same as 08... I shudder to think of what would happen if she is the nominee, she cannot beat any decent candidate, doubt she can beat trump either and that is really frightening.

But the phenomena of white voters voting against their self-interests is not a new one.

"Socialist ideologues" are not a major voting block in this country.

...then we most certainly are talking about Sanders supporters. Sanders being a loud and proud Democrcatic Socialist, my comment is hardly a stretch.

I will agree quite strongly that "socialist ideologues" is not a huge group. Is your thought that Sanders's attractiveness to his supporters is something different than his socialist message? And these same voters will find Trump a logical alternative?

I'm not seeing it.

Hopefully, they are both wrong.

A socialist message can appeal to many folks who are not socialist ideologues.

If logic were applicable to politics, then none of those folks would vote against their self-interest.

I can't see it either (I am a mathematical logician by profession, so there's probably a joke in here somewhere as to why not), but the fact that folks often vote against their self interest again and again is a recurring problem.

The Republicans just now equaled Democrats in registration.
A survey would need to ask who those Democrats voted for in the last few elections to be worth spit.

Is that the cause of their earthquakes is the fracking. And the people still vote republican even as they are being lied to. I am dismayed and shocked at the stupity of the American people who are so stupid they can't see the facts in front of them.

There has been no general election campaign. We don't know just what Democrats they are talking about, in what states, etc. We don't know just what their questions were, what their polling model was, etc.

This is all BULLSHIT right now. Polls like this mean NOTHING.

other countries to succumb to fascism. I don't at this point
argue for any democrat, I am just very worried.

The country is very angry and people feel insecure.

That is when the voters can be motivated to hate as
well as fear. The media at this point support Trump
and Cruz by giving them an unbelievable exposure.

Remember, from Bill Clinton's election that it takes
only a majority, not 51% to win.

Thus 38% of the votes could be a winner.

Yes, I take this very, very seriously.
