Imploding the GOP: Repub convention is destined for chaos, and that’s exactly what Democrats want

I know I do!

A brokered convention would be a nightmare for the GOP. It would upend an already fractured party and it would marginalize key Republican constituencies. Under any plausible scenario, a brokered convention would pit the establishment wing of the party against practically everyone else – and that’s exactly what the GOP needs to avoid.

Well, if you’re a Republican, Karl Rove has some bad news.

The Republican operative wrote in the Wall Street Journal last week that “The GOP will hold its first multiballot convention since 1948. Delegates will be fractured – with many legally bound, for at least one ballot, to support the winner of their state or district – and at least two ballots will be required. But the candidate with the most delegates going in will win.”

If the breakdown of delegates is Trump 40%, Rubio 30%, all others badly lagging, then the ticket will be Trump/Rubio regardless of what Karl Rove and Wall Street think.
