(6,123 posts)Republicans have lots of crappy bumper stickers....so why promote them here?

(26,549 posts)What the Republicans are thinking and doing is quite relevant as to whether or not we win in November.

Bjornsdotter
(6,123 posts)...what bothers me is that we have so many people here at each others throats over who is the better democratic candidate. I see no reason to add fuel to that fire.
Nothing more...nothing less.
BlueState
(642 posts)...had a "Where's the birth certificate?" bumper sticker (or some such nonsense) in 2012. We know how that ended.
If Bernie is nominated they'll have some ridiculous ficticious meme to spread around.
Who cares.
vkkv
(3,384 posts)Really ????
And "them" as in plural? Meaning "many"? More than one ?!
Me thinks you are a bit afraid of Hillary's elect-ability and negativity in the view of voters, right or left... am I correct?
Bjornsdotter
(6,123 posts)Do I fear Hillary no. If she wins the nomination I will vote for her. Supported her in 2008 and Bernie now. I stand by my original post...why bring this here?
Is it funny...no
Is it educational....no
Is it a not so subtle slam against a candidate...yes.
Raise the discourse and rise above the cheap shots.

(598 posts)Ya' know, I think that's what Bernie meant when he said, "Enough with the damn emails." In other words, vote for Hillary, she'll be focusing on defending her email problems. It was a subtle way of saying vote for Bernie. He doesn't come with email baggage. He can focus on the economy without those distractions. We'll never know for sure, but that was my take. I believe later, Team
Hillary realized he wasn't defending her, entirely.
He reminded everyone of Hillary's problem, and at the same time received a standing ovation, and a handshake from Hillary. Politically, it was a smart move on his part.

(812 posts)Does it all the time in interviews. When the press want to talk smack that's not worthy of the kindergarten playground, he calls them on it. Shuts them down pronto.
Just his style. No gamesmanship or triangulation involved, he simply doesn't have time for cheap gossip. Think anti-Trump.

(99,710 posts)In 1980 there were bumper stickers that said "A Blonde In Every Pond" and "Nobody Died At Three Mile Island". I wonder if there was a DU back then would it find its way here.

Hillary for Prison???? On DU? In what way does this further any discussion at all? It is simply meant to be disruptive. Hide this asinine post.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Jan 12, 2016, 05:41 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This is a rightwing meme there's no condemning it in the OP. It's obvious it was brought here purely for flamebait and to stir up a hornets nest. Go to a mixed board for this. Even people that don't like Hillary should not be ok with this. Unless of course you're planning on voting for trump. hide this. it has no place on DU.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't vote to hide a post b/c an alerter "knows" what the poster "meant."
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's GD-P where Democrats go to insult other Democrats.
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
So now DUer's are dirt-bag shit heads. Please help bring this place to some state of decorum.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Jan 12, 2016, 06:27 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Try and be civil people. It's really not that hard.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: OK everyone...inhale!! Let it out slowly.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT

Explanation: If they were able to call out the alerter by name then perhaps the alerter would have a case. Sounds like sour grapes for the OP not being hidden.

(20,043 posts)if someone thinks something is against community standards they alert. You knew that when you signed up? And yet you called fellow posters dirt bag censor loving shitheads--no I won't star out the letter, for doing what the site allows them to do?
What if someone called Bernie a commie loving asshole--and someone alerted on that and it was hidden. Community standards would have spoken. That's how this site works. When you sign up here that's what you sign up for.
By the way, my example should I have been serious should be hidden. But I don't believe that about Bernie, I think he's a very decent guy and we're lucky to have him as a candidate.
Just pointing out this is yahoo.com and it's not a free for all.

(62,406 posts)Think - pretty sure - it was Trump. (Trump for prison) - Hillary's on a pickup, Trump's on a Prius.
I did had a conversation with a Republican who told me that Hillary should be in prison. I asked her why and she looked at me like the proverbial deer in the headlights. She said "her emails" in a condescending tone. So I asked her "what specifically?" She looked stunned and said "I don't have time for this nonsense." I told her I did and no one can ever tell me what she did.
Conversation over.
I get in these impromptu debates from time to time and they usually go just like that. Short with no answers.
LiberalArkie
(15,713 posts)"What emails" oh? "What was on them?". "Is that important" and the eyes do glass over. They are not used to having to logically defend their position.
I am not against Hillary, I am just for Bernie. I would like to do something to drag this nation back to the hard left.

I wish I had the data to find out for sure. Groups hosts PLEASE chime in.
Hillary supporters here seem far, far, more intolerant than Bernie fans as witnessed by the many ALERTS anytime someone types a negative opinion of her. Your post is evidence of that as well.
Bernie, a professional whiner? That is more a reflection on you, but okay, whatever.
Many Americans DO NOT WANT an insider for POTUS anyway, hence the very strong, but weird support of Trump.
