DURHAM D
(32,609 posts)seems to be popular. The trolls post on DU and then run over there to laugh about it. Today was the first time I went there on my own. Usually I have only read there because someone posts a link about an ongoing Meta flamefest.
It seems that all the Cavers are members here. In fact, in emails I have started calling this place DUCave.

A wise move on Skinner's part. I may, however, need some of that Metadone that Greek Tragedy mentioned.
Edit: I just realized that dog has a wire holding him up. Looks like animal cruelty to me so I'm deleting the video.

(3,724 posts)The day the 'fatass bon bon' thread was allowed to stand was the day I dumped the meta group. I have to say I didn't miss it, either. But I can see now that the owners deeply regretted losing me, so they obviously got rid of the entire forum in order to placate me. Good move, guys.
The above is a joke, of course. I'm glad they made this move, it was much needed.

(11,175 posts)Was anyone being forced to read stuff in Meta?
Is the argument "I don't want to read this stuff but I don't have the will power to resist it, if it's there, so please take it away so that I'm not tempted"? Or is simply knowing of its existence an intolerable provocation?
There's a lot of material on DU that's not to my taste. My solution is to not read it. So far, that's worked for me.

Now, here is to hoping they do something about the TOS. Not getting my hopes up, but hey, this is a start!

(22,336 posts)The only thing I'm bummed out about is that I had a reply I couldn't read. But then maybe it was something I didn't want to read.
Anyway, it is for the best for sure.
dontcha hate that when it happens. ended perfectly, just where i needed it to, with my replies.

(111,253 posts)I think I posted in Meta maybe twice. I just didn't go there.
However, every one of the stupidest alerts have come from there and from the Gungeon.
I don't know what the thin skinned whiners will do for an outlet now. Maybe having the nastiness in regular groups will get more of them pizza deliveries.
damage was done already.
we will see.

(41,976 posts)I wasn't sure if I had trashed it accidentally or not. Probably a good idea. It was fun to read sometimes though, less fun to participate in. It was like a sarcasm contest. Or a 'who is the troll' thingy.
It brought out the dark side. The force is with us now.
