There is a sense of ownership when it comes to celebrities by the public. Sometimes it's hard to tell who is being manipulated though, the celebrities, or the public. In something that is deeply personal, or when someone has has clearly taken a lot of pains to protect privacy, I think they should be left alone.

Miscarriage is often deeply painful, and I think celebrities should talk about it f and when the feel like it

The 'baby bump' speculations are just rude.

Then there are things like this;

Oh sweet merciful christ the annual khaki-ed klavern that is CPAC has finally ended and thus we can start following less disgusting displays of retrograde political insanity, like sequester budget debates or public lynchings. Sadly, however, there is one more “story” to report from this pasty-fleshed convention from hell, and it involves everyone’s favorite bastard offspring of Dennis Miller and Phyllis Schlafly, the ignoble glass-jawed future Senator known as Steven Crowder. It seems as if Mr. Macho Insecurity took a dramatic break from his usual YouTubed fits of transparent homophobic rage and condescendingly idiotic articles about his perfect marriage and instead made a crack about Ashley Judd and rape, which was (not surprisingly) about as funny as a tumor:

By the way, in breaking news, Ashley Judd just tweeted that buying Apple products, again, is akin to rape. From her iPhone. Rape—now she knows how my brain felt after Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Oh, she said it. What is this obsession with Ashley Judd and rape? It’s pretty unnerving.
Hilarious right! Well unfortunately for Crowder the comedy masterpiece formula “famous actress + crappy ‘chick flick’ = awesome rape joke opportunity” kind of doesn’t apply when the actress at the center of the joke also happens to be a rape victim herself:
I’ve been aware of gender violence all my life, being a survivor of gender violence….And I think part of what’s important, in addition to how we shape the narrative, is that we all have the courage to talk about it, because we’re as sick as our secrets and the shame keeps us in isolation.

matter, unless there is some reason for the family to choose to come forward to discuss.

I too am really tired of the fixation and obsession on some female celebrity's baby bump. It is as though some in the media believe that no accomplishment in their professional life ranks with her validating herself as female by bearing children... I'm sure many would argue this is not the case, but it certainly has that appearance. After all, when is the last time you have seen celebrity interviews of men fixating on if/when they are going to start their family?

Regardless, too much very personal information being made public--at least to me... I just don't think we needed to know.

Her style of writing made me cringe...but, since I don't know who Crowder is, maybe I missed what she was trying to say...but, think she was trying to point out that what he said was crude considering that Ashley Judd is trying to advocate for help for rape victims in war torn Africa.

It's just that Wonkette's style made it hard for me to easily get whether she was angry with Judd or Crowder or just disgusted by the whole thing.

I had read it, and decided not to post it probably for that reason--I just remembered it when. Saw your post. She was pointing out the comedian was making rape jokes about Judd, who herself has been a three time victim of rape, calling her 'obsessed' although it was in reference to some comment made by Judd about iPhones

Sorry about that
