(3,179 posts)2. Very good demonstration.
Sadly, some will remain stubbornly unconvinced with the assertion that any attention they might deign to bestow upon a female should be considered a high compliment.

Analogy sometimes works when nothing else does.

(7,237 posts)4. Nice. The follow up is great, too.
But If I Can't Buy You A Coffee, How Will Our Species Reproduce?
If only I had a nickel for every time I heard that one.
"But but but men are expected to be the pursuers!!! If men stopped doing this nobody would ever hook up!!!"
When I wrote my essay about buying coffee as a metaphor for sexual harassment, men started asking: Well, what do I do if I cant hit on women? Do you expect me to live my life in a closet, wandering alone through my tie racks forever? Why, if no man ever approached women, our species would go extinct!
If only I had a nickel for every time I heard that one.

(41,971 posts)5. Because there's just no other way to meet people
Than 'hitting' on them

(50,934 posts)7. My favorite line in the followup:
'A woman showing up in public means that shes fair game.' Which means shes not a person, but an antelope in a game preserve."

but I feel cynical and I doubt many people will read it and understand. There's a strong amount of defensiveness about this issue. And a strong sense of entitlement.
