Austin Smith Clem raped Courtney Andrews twice when she was 14 and once when she was 18. A jury convicted him of one count of first-degree rape and two counts of second-degree rape, yet despite sentencing guidelines calling for decades in prison, Limestone County Circuit Judge James Woodroof gave Clem a sentence that will let him avoid prison time for the rapes. Woodroof theoretically sentenced Clem to 40 years, but:

If history serves, the sentence/agreement will be light..

(16,834 posts)or buy a lottery ticket in Tenn. for 6 years? So that's 2 years of probation per rape? What if he rapes again, will he get another 2 years? This judge needs to go to prison right along with the rapist.
