The Perils of Walking Into a Planned Parenthood Clinic

I was the first appointment that day and noticed a few men, all in their 50s or 60s, milling around the parking lot when we pulled in. Once we got out of the car, one made a beeline for us with a fistful of pamphlets. My aunt said, “Thanks, but no thanks,” and he got irate, screaming, “How can you do this? You’re killing your baby to continue on your whore lifestyle, you jezebel!’ Suddenly we were surrounded by five other men — that’s when the baby-doll parts starting hitting us.

They had a box filled with torn apart baby dolls covered with red paint. All three of us were hit — in the head, chest, torso. As they were pelting us, they yelled, “This is what you’re doing to your baby! Look at the street! It’s strewn with the blood of your baby. That’s your baby scattered across the street!” It was surreal and terrifying at once. And we still had to cross a wide street to enter the clinic. Then they shouted at my aunt, “Grandma, why are you letting her do this? Tell her to give her baby up for adoption!” My aunt responded, “First of all, I’m not old enough to be a grandma. Second, come talk to me when you have a uterus and a vagina.”

I thought I’d feel better once inside the clinic. But as I sat in the waiting area, I could hear every single girl get out of her car and do that walk of shame. That was the worst part of the day. When the doctor pulled up later that morning, there was such a frenzy the building almost shook. I heard them shouting, “Murderer!” and “Butcher!” and my heart started racing all over again.

I was the first to see the doctor. After he went over the procedure with me, he asked, “Do you have any questions?” I said, “Are they going to be there when I leave? — not, “Is there any pain?” or “How long will it take to recover?” He said, “No. After I arrive, they disperse.” That was true, and I was grateful. I would have stayed until they left. I couldn’t go through that again.

employ a SYG approach to the vermin in the parking lot.
Or at least a defense predicated on a fear of imminent danger once objects have been thrown.

Particularly given they were assaulting by pelting with the doll parts.

These neanderthals whose entire self-worth is dependent on controlling women are dangerous--because they know their time has come and gone. I intend to live long enough to make certain of that, if at all possible.

women for using self defense against these cretins,I imagine they would certainly try to press charges as that would teach those women a lesson for fighting back. I've never heard of one.

9. We are supposed to be within our rights to use self defense

but when a woman does it even when it is clearly, obviously, without-a-doubt self defense?

Not so much. Women don't make or enforce the *rules* of law.

4. Hell, if we're gonna use such a loose definition of "being threatened" (loud music etc.)

then the women in the OP would be well within their rights to blow those assholes away.

And I hate to say it, but maybe if a few "pro-lifers" had suffered the same fate as Tiller or Slepian, they wouldn't be so damn mouthy to this very day.

I'd like to know if any have tried something to send a message that assaults (verbal or physical) would not go unanswered?

walking into a PP clinic in an open carry state walk in with a gun prominently displayed,I'm sure the cowards would hold their tongues. I doubt that PP would appreciate it though.

7. SYG would not work in cases like this, maybe if it was some black guys who were doing it
Fri Feb 21, 2014, 08:46 PM

but this is why there was a black woman who was not able to get away with it when she shot at someone who abused her and she had not even hit him.

just like these assholes yelling and throwing things would most likely be opposed at govt funding to help take care of babies and new mothers.

10. Sometimes I want to go work at PP

I did clinicals there a long time ago. I gave birth control injections, assisted in family planning, watched genital warts being treated, I forget all what. In my hospital work, I've assisted a young woman who had been on an extremely teratogenic drug on to a stretcher, held her while she cried, saw her off to her abortion and got to see her a few weeks later, young and happy with a whole future ahead of her

Those disgusting people, those shit-like excretable hypocrites. They belong in jail.

11. Don't most ppl go to PP for b.c., not abortions?

I thought only 3% of what they did was abortion related. Not that those old idiots would care. We really do need buffer zones, don't we? What if she went there for a check-up and not an abortion? Would they even care? Do they support things like W.I.C., head start, food stamps, healthcare, etc.? Seems like if we gave more time and attention to those things, more babies (or whatever you want to call it) would be saved, for lack of a better term.

But my guess is deep down, they either fear women controlling their own bodies, or they've been brainwashed by their church(es). Probably both.
