The results on the state senate race I mentioned yesterday!

full story and pic of candidate here http://www.nhregister.com/government-and-politics/20140225/holder-winfield-wins-10th-district-state-senate-race

Note that Gary's opposition was a guy who is backed by a RW group: Family Institute of Connecticut Action.

Also note this paragraph discussing the opposition's campaign lies and distortions:

Mullins’ campaign was colored by disputes with the city clerk’s office in New Haven over absentee ballot applications and, with days to go before Tuesday’s vote, he distributed misleading and sensational flyers and ran television ads accusing Holder-Winfield of supporting a tax bill that didn’t exist and of putting women and girls in danger of being accosted by sexual predators.

The last reference was about a bill protecting the rights of transgendered individuals.

Our New Haven ward 26 was also mentioned. Gary won it 344-93.

Now on to the general in November!

yesterday. What does that tell us? I thought DU was on the "cutting edge" of politics. I got a real lift from a local Democratic candidate's campaign than I was not getting from DU. This is a sad commentary. It used to be the other way around...

what du is.

they tried the community standards, anything, everything, unless you are a minority then nothing.... goes.

the numbers are down.

being the business woman and mama that i am, i could see shaking it up with focused, clear, well defined rules that is the essence of who democrats are and see how that works. you cannot do the two things they did, and expect much of anything. take away all rules, take away moderators and expect anything good.

not gonna happen

liberals and esp. African Americans are forewarned about). That is why the repukes have such a hard time either finding candidates to field at all or in running against liberal Dems in actual races. And then, as the story points out, they have to rely on saying stuff that just isn't true or maligning transgendered citizens. It was the lie about the tax bill that my husband, who worked the polls in Ward 26 yesterday, said caused a dent in Gary's numbers. It shows has a lie is halfway around the world before truth has put on his boots...
