I'm starting to hate the term "standards of beauty" though. While I appreciate the aesthetics of beauty in men or women, it has little to do with weight.

When I read something like this. And understand how pervasive it is, it just makes me sad.

It's all biologically predetermined. Apes are biologically driven to be attracted to women with BMIs of 16.7. It's a known fact. I learned it on DU.

In Mauritania, thin isn't considered beautiful. Skinny women are viewed as poor and not able to afford food. We speak with body image experts around the globe about why women seem to be subject to body drama whether big or small.

13. As a Project Runway fan

The "real Women" challenge is always interesting to see how the designers react. So many are afraid when they have to design for someone with curves. Yet the size 00 market is negligible. Would think if I was a Corporate buyer at one of these shows, would like to see 14 or 16 as that is more in the range of what will actually be sold.
