Yet more nonsense from David Barton

Found on The Raw Story - "Allowing women to vote ‘hurts the entire culture and society' "

As David Barton continues to issue lies how is it he can describe himself as and historian? It took me an entire 5 minutes of Googling using a famous internet search engine to prove him wrong.

Lydia Taft 1756 Massachusetts - voted

New Jersey 1776, voters only needed property valued at £50. Voters were referred to as he or she in the State Constitution.

Wyoming 1860, women have the vote hence the state's nickname "The Equality State". 1870 Louisa Ann Swain voted in a national election in Wyoming

1865 the 14th Amendment, the first time "Male" is used in the Constitution to describe voters.

1869 Utah (FFS the Mormon State) allowed women to vote in national elections it was not until 1887 that Congress disenfranchised Utah women as a punishment for Utah's endorsement of polygamy. After the LDS disavowed polygamy the State Constitution (approved 1895) endorsed womens suffrage in 1895 and Utah got full states rights in 1896.

David Barton falsifying history again.

HUCKABEE: I don’t know anyone in America who is a more effective communicator [than David Barton.] I just wish that every single young person in America would be able to be under his tutelage and understand something about who we really are as a nation. I almost wish that there would be something like a simultaneous telecast and all Americans would be forced, forced — at gun point no less — to listen to every David Barton message. And I think our country would be better for it. I wish it’d happen.

These people are dangerous, not only to females, also to every person in this country who do not believe exactly as they do. This includes other sects of religious wackos who do not believe as they do. It is the reason why this country has the freedom of religion clause. It is not to protect the religious. It is to protect people from religious wackos who want to force their brand down others throats at gunpoint. It is past time that all the courts and judges in this country to put the end game out of reach for the likes of Barton, Huckabee, Dobson and others.

This is not the first time I have heard that women being allowed to vote will ruin God's plan for this country. It is becoming more frequent and taken more seriously. Even the not-so-religious righties say this. Voter ID laws hurt women because if they get married, change their last name but forget about their voter registration card they will not be allowed to vote. Lord forbid if they get married after the cut off dates to change their voter registration card.

an example: Voter registration cut off date is AUG 15th. A woman gets married Aug 20th. She changes her Drivers License. When she goes to the county election board to change her voting registration, it will be after the cut off date to do so. Now her license is changes and will not match her voter registration ID. Tough shit for her, she will not be allowed to vote because the ID's do not match.

I was lucky. I got my new ID in the mail just before the cut-off date and noticed an error on my birthdate, I had 3 days to change it. What if I was out of town? I would not have been allowed to vote, my ID's did not match. The same thing happened when we moved. They made a mistake on my addy and had me going to the wrong precinct entirely. Once is a fluke, twice raises my eyebrows.

When you take away a woman's right over her own body, taking away her right to vote will be easy.

Just look at the debate over birth control. Under baby bush we saw the Woman's Outreach and Initiatives office get shut down, he tried to close the Department of Labor Women's Bureau, he gutted funding for the Office of Women's Health- he also tried to place a veterinarian in charge of the office of Women's Health. Under baby bush the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services even tried to classify birth control as abortifacients. If he was allowed to do so, this would have effected any and all federally funded programs that offered family planning because of the gag order on abortions and the Hyde ammd. Which would not allow tax payer funded abortions. It would have outlawed the pill for all woman on Medicaid.

These actions combined with the rhetoric are the end game to legally force women into becoming brood mares. When will women on the right wake the fuck up and stop supporting and voting for these assholes is my question. When will they realize they are not God damned special and be subjugated to the same laws that women on the left will be?

All of the actions of the right are not just one offs, but a unified effort to dehumanize women as a whole. It hurts when the left starts buying into this culture.

The Religious Wrong havebeen pushing this in many countries, it's just that in the USA it seems to receive more uncritical publicity.
