Yes those subthreads were disappointing to me, also. Grateful for your input there. freshwest Jul 2014 #3

is that this is more of a rape fantasy that a lot of women have, one in which the woman retains control while the male has totally surrendered his control.

I realize this will sound pretty silly to men, but it resonates with a hell of a lot of women.

It doesn't make me exhausted in the least, although reading that particular passage didn't blow my hair back and float my boat, either. The fact that it's somebody else's fantasy is probably what made it fall so flat, that and the dreadful writing style.

Your antidote is probably the "50 Shades of Grey Challenge" http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=50+shades+of+grey+challenge. It shows what happens when the readers are outside the target audience of women who have been married too long.

http://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/2byz2l/many_women_do_not_agree_with_me_on_this_subject/ is a pretty good one, with a lot of stuff I'd never heard about it. I had no idea it was originally Twilight fan fiction, which explains the godawful writing, the loathsome MarySueing, and a good bit of the creep factor.
