I was on the jury.... and obviously voted to hide it. I'm sure my alert meant diddly squat.... but I had to at least try.

9. I just went and look to see which post was hidden

and it wasn't one that made any offensive comments about children and rape. It was a rather tame remark directed at me that it wouldn't have occurred to me to alert on.

I didn't alert on any posts in that thread. I guess I feel that if I start a discussion, I shouldn't try to have dissenting comments hidden. There was also nothing in there I haven't seen on this site many times before. I'm not condoning the remarks. I find the position reprehensible and said as much to the posters. I just wouldn't have alerted myself.

15. I made the mistake

At one point, after a sleepless night, by making a comment about a rapist that raped a 90 year old woman being put in the general population so he would know the pain. It was stupid, an emotional response and I never should have said it. My only hide and I deserved it.

What blew me away was the fact that multiple other comments on that thread advocating torture, stood. I thought at the time that was odd. Now, I am afraid that it was because people don't care what happens to anyone that committed a crime. F4lconF16's post today and yesterday are filled with people calling for torture.

I don't know this country anymore.

Now, I think I have just about had it. We have people excusing her rape/pedophilia because they were eventually married in one post. We have people not just OK with torture but advocating for it in another
