That's typical. Clergy often don't help abused wives---they blame them and tell them they're responsible for keeping the marriage together. Stay with a violent man, don't complain, and pray.

And it turns out his problem could have been medically corrected.

Yet it is the woman who suffers because of everyone's ignorance. I guess that is the very definition of sexism.
