SEX-MAD comic Russell Brand was told off by Billy Connolly after he refused to start filming until a wardrobe girl flashed her boobs at him.
His cheeky demand delayed shooting on the first day for two hours, so the assistant eventually gave in for the sake of the schedule.
*
But Billy failed to see the funny side. The source added: Billy got annoyed when he found out and and gave Russell a stern ticking off.
*
The source recalled: Russell tried to persuade a wardrobe assistant to show him her breasts but she was having none of it at first.
But when it started to look like they werent going to get any work done she gave in and flashed him. Russell is a charming scoundrel and everybody let him get away with murder on set except Billy.
But after their heart-to-heart he settled down and gave a great performance and filmed the scenes like a consummate professional.

(5,756 posts)I went to the link. He sort of looks like Charles Manson. The look in his eyes scared me.
It shouldn't have just been a stern "hear-to-heart" with him. He should have been shown the door and replaced with a reasonable human.

(115,103 posts)but based on how this went on for hours, I doubt whoever it is took it seriously.

(110,159 posts)this bothers me in such a way, that in todays world in a work environment this would be allowed to happen. and there was no one tht put a stop to it. that is what really pisses me off and makes me so angry about the event.

(17,862 posts)It is his musical and he lets his people be treated this way? Remind me not to see the musical (which I would not have anyway). What is wrong with the rest of the production crew that did not get the producer and director in their and point out to this clown that he was violating his contract? Did the production really need him? A dressing down by another actor is all that happens??? How often does this happen in this industry. My daughter is thinking about pursuing a film career as an editor and camera person - what should I advise her? As mentioned in the comments section, the poor woman would probably get blackballed if she complained.

clue in... at that point, it is rape.

(115,103 posts)Somehow I imagine the more common response would be to tell her to just get it over with, why are you so uptight, stop being a prude, they're only breasts, etc.

not to mention HBOs efforts to knock over the barrier of gratuitous full frontal nudity though exclusively women nudity so really not about nudity for reality since men get naked in RL just not on tv.
this is what these mentalities breed.

There are also many little psychopaths who don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. And if you are rich, our culture rewards that.

it has felt like to me that we are walking back on the rules in an office space. and i think it is both genders that are creating this. and i really do not think the women are going to feel a win if they lose this. they may not appreciate it now, but, when there are not strong boundaries, i think they will see the need.
kinda like abortion. the younger generation does not get the importance of women being protected. a loss will be a clearer picture.
