Related: About this forumNew Edit button doesn't work right - I made a reply to an LBN article. Then I tried to edit my reply
by clicking "Options" (at the footer of my reply) and then "Edit this post", and what showed up is the same thing one gets in LBN when one clicks on "Start A Discussion".
My reply that I tried to edit:

(6,226 posts)cant edit my posts on my laptop now because the edit button is now buried in a menu which wont open in my older version of firefox. Is it really necessary to hide the edit button it behind a menu button? It was fine until this upgrade as a standalone button.

(22,619 posts)How old is your older version of Firefox -- can you tell me the version? (In Firefox, you can find that in help > About Firefox). Do you have Javascript turned on?
Yes, it was necessary to move the link in order to incorporate the other changes I wanted to make.

(6,226 posts)Nothing happens when I click the options button. Thanks for checking it out, I know its a lot to ask to have this old browser be accomodated; I am trying to forestall the inevitable laptop replacement as long as possible!
I believe the current version is 133.0.3. Unfortunately Im not sure what I can do if changes arent backwards compatible with old versions of browsers, and yours is around eight years old, which as you say is pretty old.
Is the reason you havent upgraded Firefox because you want to get a new laptop first? If so, my recommendation would be to not wait any longer to update the software. DU aside, you may be creating a security issue for yourself. Updating your browser regularly means you get patches to protect against the latest security threats.
You probably cannot update the version you have to the latest version because its too old, but you can download the latest version from https://mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new
If you dont want to do this, I understand. But unfortunately if the problem is specific to your current browser, I dont know how to fix it

(22,619 posts)I think it is specific to the LBN forum, because that forum has a different post form. We should be able to get this fixed today, but my apologies for the inconvenience.

(197 posts)rather than clicking Options and then Edit. I use the Edit functionality A LOT. At least (from my perspective) the Options button is green and stands out.
