NRA Talking Points

NRA apologists and supporters regularly claim that there is no such thing as NRA 'talking points," and become highly indignant when they are accused of parroting the NRA. A quick web search found the following:

"In the days following the Sandy Hook shooting, a bipartisan group of lawmakers signaled they would be open to supporting the requirement. But as memories of the “Connecticut effect” fade, many are refusing to vote for the provision and are parroting NRA talking points to justify their opposition:"

It is apparent that the NRA does indeed have "talking points" and uses them very effectively. NRA apologists and supporters use these very same talking points when defending the NRA and dismissing the level of gun violence in the USA as "statistically negligible." The NRA and a very vocal minority of cold-dead-hands gun nuts would like to promote the unfettered proliferation of guns in our society while accepting absolutely no responsibility for the obscene consequences of their actions.

Admittedly every organization develops "talking points" to promote their own agenda, but the NRA uses innuendo, misinformation, and outright lies when preparing their media material. They promote their own self-interest, and that of their right-wing sponsors (the Koch Brothers and gun manufacturer/dealers) strictly for profits with little regard for the death and injuries they enable.

The more that we, as responsible citizens, expose the NRA and their apologists and supporters for what they really are, the sooner the out-of-control gun violence in this country will be addressed with sane legislation.

no such thing as "NRA Talking Points," I am bumping this OP rather than re-posting the information. The right-wing NRA/ALEC/Koch Brothers/Fox News gun lobby, and their bought-and-paid-for Republican politicians, keep repeating certain talking points in order to reinforce their lies and disinformation.

To add to this compilation of NRA Talking Points, is this often cited misinformation:

that it is time to bump this thread again.

Another site pointing out the repeated propaganda from the NRA:

- IT’S A GUN GRAB

- FOCUS ON PROSECUTION

- CRIMINALS WON’T FOLLOW THE LAW

- IT WILL CREATE A GUN REGISTRY

- DON’T NEED NEW GUN LAWS

And this is just in response to background checks...
