The Social Network 2

Should be a good one..

Aaron Sorkin believes that The Social Network 2 is possible. Sorkin has had an illustrious career as a writer, known for his back-and-forth dialogue in television shows like Sports Night and The Newsroom, and penning screenplays for hit films like A Few Good Men and Moneyball. He has won numerous Emmy Awards for creating and writing the political drama The West Wing and has since transitioned to directing his own written films with Molly's Game, The Trial of the Chicago 7, and his upcoming feature Being The Ricardos about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

Sorkin's most notable work in film is arguably when he adapted the script for The Social Network, which starred Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, and Justin Timberlake, and was directed by David Fincher back in 2010. The biographical film about Mark Zuckerberg and the founding of Facebook even earned Sorkin an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film is what one would expect from a writer like Sorkin, with lengthy monologues and quick-paced dialogue between characters.

In an interview with THR, Sorkin is hopeful that a sequel to The Social Network can be made. Sorkin has previously talked about the potential for a continuation of the film and stated that he would be on board if Fincher agreed to direct. He also mentioned that despite directing his last three projects, he has always been a writer and would want to continue to work with directors on scripts that he has written. Sorkin's full statement on the future of The Social Network can be seen below:

"The answer to your question is no, I am not done wanting to work with great directors, and Fincher would certainly be on the top of that list....I think what has been going on with Facebook these last few years is a story very much worth telling, and there is a way to tell it as a follow up to The Social Network, and that’s as much as I know."...
