|PRDP post| Clinton's "theme" - what's your guess?

If Hillary's crazy enough to run for the Presidency (given that her favorability ratings are already heading down significantly, after actual exposure to the public and the total-non-scandal-whose-subject-shall-not-be-mentioned)... What do you think the overarching theme of her campaign will be?

I supect something like Reagan's "morning in America", which would be ironic on multiple levels, but given her track record (love of Wall Street and millitary action) she needs to divert attention to the future (e.g., "a new day with security for the 99%... our children will be able to afford college... "

Which would be funny, given her passions. We could have Larry Summers as our Captain Kangaroo.

But, as it's said, nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American People.

Your thoughts?

(Note that this is a PRDP group post. Unlike, say, GD, behaving like an adult is mandatory.)

3. Wow

Where to start (on an adult level)?

I have always thought that anyone who voted Republican was extremely rich or extremely stupid.

I'm on the verge of thinking those same thoughts toward Hillary fans.

I'm looking for a candidate that focuses on domestic policy and steers away from world dominion.

4. We've pretty much seen her theme in the Larry Summers/Center for American Progress report

Short version: "America was booming until Reagan pissed it away. Then President Clinton saved the economy. Did you catch that name? Clinton".

9. Ah yes the name Clinton. I remember a Clinton that supported the Republicons by signing

the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act that deregulated the banks and brought about the banker extortion of 2008. Of course not to be outdone another Clinton abandoned Democratic Principles to help the Republicons in 2002 leading to 1 million deaths and lots of other destruction. The Clintons seem to like to help the Republicons.

5. "I am going to raise an insane amount of money".

This is actually her platform. Really. Mantra, bumper sticker, policy, everything.

12. The Onion profiles canidate Hillary and others so far

Hillary

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to officially announce her candidacy for the 2016 presidential election on Sunday, putting an end to months of speculation about her plans. Here are some key things to know about the first Democrat to declare her candidacy:

Campaign Slogan: “I deserve this”

Campaign Strategy: Overwhelming tide of inevitability

Spouse: Former Arkansas attorney general William Jefferson Clinton

Wingspan: 7 feet, 6 inches

Ideal Running Mate: Primary opponent who knows how to gracefully step aside when the time comes

Biggest Scandals: Deaths of four Americans at Benghazi, use of private email account for government emails, choice of Nina McLemore dress at a 1998 presidential function

Grandchildren: One, but pushing Chelsea for one more before Iowa caucus

Stance On Abortion: Supports a woman’s right to choose for her husband’s mistress

Rand Paul

Political Vision: Supports bipartisanship between the Tea Party and GOP

Campaign Strategy: Hoping college-aged white males come to comprise over half of U.S. population

Platform: Heavy focus on abolishing and repealing, with lesser focus on dismantling, rescinding, and abrogating

Campaign Slogan: “Defeat the Washington machine. Unleash the American dream.”

Unabridged Campaign Slogan: “Defeat the Washington machine. Unleash the American dream. Fight the Capitol Hill scheme. Scream the revolutionary’s scream. Adopt the populist mien. Join the Rand Paul team!”

Effect Of Campaign Bumper Sticker On Car’s Resale Value: -11.5%

Ted Cruz

Speaks: Spanish, English, Tongues

Campaign Slogan: “I’m Ted Cruz”

Likelihood Of Becoming President: Huckabeesque

Campaign Platform: Be a distraction for a few months

Largest Obstacles To Nomination: Scott Walker, Rand Paul, five seconds of scrutiny

15. Today is the 70th anniversary of FDR's death

If Hillary were even a moderate Democrat (instead of a Rockefeller Republican) she might have made mention of it - and if she were a Roosevelt kind of Democrat she might have made mention not just of the anniversary but have said it was time to push the FDR's Second Bill of Rights.

I know, sometimes I really let my mind wander too fare into fantasy land.
