What happened?

I went to a support group for my illness and this woman that is usually there (and had been pressing someone to give her a 1/2 lb. of weed) and she was giving out samples of the cannabis butter she made which she said did not come out quite right.

She said you can either rub it on yourself for pain or eat a 1/2 tsp. of it on a cracker.

I tried the cracker approach and wow, did it ever sicken me in the stomach. It was not refrigerated or anything at all. It looked odd to me and I'm wondering, does this cannabis butter go bad? It was probably a couple of weeks old when I got it and after the sick thing happened, I threw it away (good riddance!).

Please let me know if anyone has a clue. Thank you.

If left unrefrigrerated too long and the addition of plant material will cause more rapid deteriation. The woman admitted to messing it up so that may have increased the rate of spoilage.

Its hard to tell what kind of pot she put in them. Most people dont use premium nugs for butter and use secondary or worse. Could have been moldy, grown with insecticides or just old. Or she could just have a gross and nasty kitchen.

I didn't think about it when I first read, but you're right - half a pound is an enormous amount of weed.

It’s possible this woman was looking for gullible people. Glad this poster wasn’t one of them. I am sorry for the being ill, though.

My wife has a good friend that makes fresh cannabis butter for her. She then bakes cookies with it, always yummy.

Some people do, but it really helps if mixed in something chocolatey sweet or strongly-flavored. I've heard of people melting it over spaghetti noodles with tomato sauce that has a lot of oregano and other spices to mask it.

You can barely taste the plant material. Kind of a mild aftertaste. Its what they use in most candies now

way back in 1980. They were chocolate chip cookies. It took about an hour, as I recall, to feel anything. One day, I suppose, I’ll get the real deal. Maybe.
