CBD oil for insomnia?

About two months ago I ordered CBD oil capsules for the first time (Hammer Nutrition). Their write-up focused on it being good for falling asleep but said there are other benefits but didn't lay them out. They recommended 25 mg. At first I thought it was helping but then it seemed not to. I've tried higher dosages and it seems to help a little but it's not really been the miracle I was hoping for (I'm a tough case when it comes to insomnia). (It also seems to make migraines less severe, but I take it with other things so I'm not certain it's the CBD.)

Should I be taking more than 25 mg? Anybody else take CBD oil for insomnia? What sorts of dosages do you see results with?

One last concern is that I've only tried this one brand of oil and I have nothing to compare it with, so I'm not sure of its quality.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

1. I'v never tried CBD oil, but regular mj has been a miracle worker for this insomniac.

I used to use Kava Kava and it worked fine, but they pulled it from the market. I remembered that mj worked wonders and went back to it in my 40's and have been smoking ever since. I have glaucoma so qualify for medical mj, but it is too expensive the way it's handled in my state. I've heard, from a friend, that CBD oil if iffy and the quality can vary widely, which is why I haven't gone in that direction - at least not yet.

Good luck with your migraines and insomnia, I know how miserable that can be.

3. Try the brand Charlotte's Web. There's also different CBD oils: CBD isolate and full spectrum hemp

CBD oil. Also read the label to see what type of plant they use. I take 20 drops of 1000 mg CBD a day in addition to 20 drops of 300 mg CBD product called 1:1 twice a day. (1:1 is half CBD oil and half TCH so you'll need a card to buy 1:1).

A friend tried CBD oil for her insomnia and get no benefit. Have you tried the Bach Flower remedy called Rescue Remedy? I use it to calm horses when facing a new situation. It's very effective and there's no overdosing. Take about 30 mins before bed. This can be bought at vitamin stores or online.

I used to give Rescue Remedy to one of my dogs, and take a nip or two of it myself!

Charlotte's Web has a good reputation. I don't think I can get anything with THC in it here in Arizona. I would try it if I could!

4. Helps me fall asleep.

Not that great for staying asleep. I can hardly keep my eyes open after 10:00 pm. I take 2 puffs of a strong Indica and that seals the deal for falling asleep. Problem is I wake up about two or three o'clock. 2 more drops under my tongue and 2 more puffs and I'm back to sleep in an hour or two. Would love to stay asleep for 6 or 7 hours.

I think we are all waiting for the research on type and brand of CDB to learn what helps best.

9. so, im confused.. i get hemp oil for my dogs anxiety and what not and i have human grade as well..

...i read amazon calls their cbd oil 'hemp' oil for some reason. is this the same stuff? I have paid anywhere from 10-80$ for my dogs stuff. I remember when little Charlotte needed CBD for her seizures the family moved to where MMJ was legal but the CBD oil was really expensive. Can this possibility be the same stuff we get off Amazon and else where?

Good luck with your quest. I have early waking insomnia but who wants to medicate at 2 am? I have oil pens next to my bed and they help me get to sleep but not stay asleep. All indica..

Maybe you should try edibles?

11. I use 50 mg

which is half a dropper full, of Lazarus Naturals Full Spectrum cbd tincture. The bottle is .05 oz/15 ml, with 750 mg of cbd, and about $32. I like this Oregon company, the prices are good, and they have lots of discounts for various people. The full spectrum tincture is kind of funky tasting (even the flavored ones), but it just put it under my tongue, let it sit for 30 seconds, and swallow fast or with something like coffee, juice, etc. Apparently, there's a vein under your tongue that absorbs meds quicker, which is why it is sublingual. I have an order in now for a bottle of the blood orange flavor Isolate tincture - haven't tried this yet. I'm sure the flavor is better! Research cbd isolate vs full spectrum cbd so you know the difference. CBD helps with my anxiety issues and does help with sleep and pain too.

Also, since I like making things myself, I decided to try making my own tincture from isolate powder (see Hemp barn link below). Their isolate is the least expensive I've found. I plan to try the gram of isolate mixed into MCT oil (my choice, you can try other carrier oils), and some natural flavoring (lemon, orange, mint, etc.) You can make it the strenght that you prefer though. The isolate mixes easily into the warmed oil (90-100 degrees, not too high). I bought some dropper bottle cheaply on Ebay and plan to send these as gifts when I'm done.

I hope I've answered a few questions and good luck!

PS-I'm not affiliated with either of these companies. It's just the result of intensive googling, Reddit, and good reviews!

13. Clean production is critical

Being a regular user of CBD products since 1998 I will put in
my two cents with a dash of experience.
The quality and effectiveness of CBD products for me the past twenty two years
is tied directly to three issues. The Hemp plant being used, the extraction technique
and the product formulation.
There is NO NEED, ZERO, to use any products that contain a single toxic element
in any amount. The fact that 500mg oil can be found for as little as $16 is
NOT a good thing. Any companies that offer full lab sheet reports for all of their
products is a good place to start when deciding which products to try. These sheets
disclose absolutely every single element found in the product. For me and my wife
this is a must. We do help introduce these products to folks in the senior community from time to time.
My wife and I started Mom on CBD pain crème two years ago. She has been on a Daily Dose now for 20 months.
Ask me how she is doing, PLEASE.
Hope to see your response Mike.
