For those who feel that the Democratic Party is an organization that should be open to all in sympathy with its stated goals, and especially to those who espouse its historic tenets of support for working people, Bernies arrival is a breath of fresh air. (253 posts)And has been for a while, the party continues to move to the right while the people move to the left. They have to deal with this soon or progressive will leave the party in droves. For me this election is just about picking a democratic candidate, its about the direction and vision of the democratic party as whole.

(441 posts)It is this simple. Is the Party going to the party of the working people again as it was under Roosevelt and for forty years after or is it going to be the party of Wall Street that only pays lip service to the working people. If it is the later, I am out of here.

(12,769 posts)I am guessing the closed party strategy will end once the primaries are over and they decide their super delegates need some of us regular people for votes.
